Demand Justice for 16 Cats Allegedly Found Starved to Death

Target: Kristopher Ellis, District Attorney of Lincoln County, WI

Goal: Ensure man faces appropriate punishment for the alleged abandonment and mistreatment of multiple cats, resulting in 16 deaths.

It has been reported that 16 dead cats were found locked in the home of Matthew Krautkramer, abandoned without care or sustenance. Krautkramer reportedly left them unattended while he moved in with his girlfriend, ceasing his responsibilities for their care. Investigators assert that he did not properly arrange for their food and water, leading to a devastating situation where the animals suffered from neglect and starvation.

Details reported from the investigation paint a grim picture of neglect and abandonment. Upon visiting the property, authorities say they discovered at least seven deceased cats inside the home, and that there was no available water for the surviving animals. Empty bowls and dry cat food were allegedly found inappropriately placed in a laundry basket. Fecal matter allegedly littered the floors and litter boxes, indicating a prolonged period without proper sanitation or basic care.

Urgent action is necessary to address this apparent grievous misconduct. Appropriate penalties must be pursued to ensure that this act of cruelty does not go unpunished and to uphold the welfare and rights of animals in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Ellis,

The case against Matthew Krautkramer raises serious concerns about animal welfare in our community. Allegations indicate that he abandoned 17 cats, leading to the tragic deaths of 16 of them, displaying a flagrant disregard for the lives and needs of these innocent animals.

It is reported that Krautkramer left his cats without food and water, claiming he had someone to care for them—though that individual asserts they were never asked to provide assistance. Such apparent negligence is unacceptable and should not be overlooked.

As a community, we are advocating for the appropriate punitive measures to be taken against Krautkramer, ensuring that he is held accountable for this alleged mistreatment. We urge you to take swift action in prosecuting this case to serve as a deterrent to similar acts of cruelty in our area.

Sincerely,
