This shocking display of apparent cruelty demands immediate action to hold the responsible parties accountable and to deter such inhumane treatment of animals.
What transpired is not only shocking but seems to indicate a blatant disregard for the lives of vulnerable beings. Allegedly, Maxwell confined the dog to a crate at his home, neglecting its most basic needs. The situation escalated when he reportedly transported the deceased animal to a nearby parking lot, dousing it in lighter fluid before igniting it. A terrifying event of alleged animal cruelty has emerged in Albany involving Latisha Ellis and Christopher Maxwell that must be addressed with the utmost seriousness. Reports indicate that on February 24, 2025, authorities discovered a deceased one-year-old female pit bull in a crate, tragically set on fire after being left without food or water for days. This disturbing account of apparent neglect and cruelty must not go unpunished, as it highlights a severe violation of the humane treatment of animals.
In addition to the reported horrifying circumstances surrounding the death of the Pit bull, the neglect was compounded by the discovery of a 3-year-old male dog at Ellis’s residence, allegedly living in a crate under unsanitary conditions with inadequate food and water. BOTH MONSTERS RELEASED AFTER ARRAIGNMENT WITHOUT BAIL!! Ellis has been charged with one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and one count of Torturing or Injuring Animals.
Maxwell has been charged with one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, one count of Arson 5th, and one count of Criminal Mischief 4th.
The pair was released under non-monetary conditions. They are due back in court March 25th at 10:30 am.

Just hope that an Animal Activist group can locate and dish out exactly what these Animal murdering bastards deserve!

A prison sentence, locked up with animal-loving members of the underworld who’d give their new cell-mate lessons in animal care.
Two days would probably be too much but think how much the tax-payer would save on a lengthy sentence.
This suggestion might be slightly tongue-in-cheek, but where are the law-makers with enough moral strength and courage to impose custodial sentences severe enough to discourage others from the same courses of action.
Beyond all that, a fine. A hefty fine shared between all the organisations involved in the rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of an injured or abused animal, and an equally hefty fee payable to Animal Control when they are obliged to deal with dead or dying animals, and foul rescue conditions.
But will moral backbone ever surface in these dreadful instances? Like most supporters on here, I’ve been signing these petitions for years, yet here we are again, petitioning against yet more so-called humans who think abuse, starvation, arson and murder are perfectly acceptable ways to treat animals.
