Justice for 33 Dogs Found Surrounded by Urine and Feces, Including Dead Puppy in Shower

Target: Orange County State Attorney’s Office

Goal: Ensure appropriate punishment for those allegedly responsible for appalling conditions that led to the suffering and death of innocent dogs.

The alleged actions of Heather Drass and Kyla Rivard are shocking and heart-wrenching. More than a year after authorities reportedly found 33 dogs hoarded in deplorable conditions at an Ocoee property, these two women now face animal cruelty charges. Court records indicate that the dogs were housed in kennels overflowing with urine and feces while being denied access to adequate food and clean water. Tragically, five dogs were allegedly discovered in a particularly distressing state, including a brindle Chihuahua mix found dead in a shower stall and another pitbull mix reportedly afflicted with a deadly parvovirus before being euthanized.

While Drass asserted that caregivers were provided with sufficient food and water for the animals, deputies described a starkly contrasting scene upon their arrival. The dogs were reportedly living in horrifying circumstances, with 18 of them found inside an RV trailer that was overwhelmed by the stench of excrement and littered with trash. This situation underscores a critical need for serious legal consequences against those allegedly responsible for such devastating animal abuses.

To foster a more humane society, the demand is clear: those reportedly responsible for this alleged heinous act of animal cruelty must face the full extent of the law. It is imperative to ensure justice is served for the innocent lives who suffered and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Orange County State Attorney’s Office,

The circumstances surrounding the alleged animal cruelty case involving Heather Drass and Kyla Rivard are deeply troubling and demand immediate attention. Authorities reportedly discovered 33 dogs in a state of despair at an Ocoee property, where they were confined in kennels filled with urine and feces without proper access to food or clean water. It is alleged that among these innocent animals, five dogs were found in horrific conditions, including a brindle Chihuahua mix that was dead in a shower stall and a pitbull mix that was later euthanized due to parvovirus, a disease that can be deadly if not treated.

The conditions reported by deputies appear to highlight a shocking level of negligence, with dogs living in filth within stacked cages, and an RV trailer that reeked of excrement. Even when confronted with the reality of their mistreatment, the accused allegedly denied the severity of the situation, claiming care was being provided. This behavior reflects an unacceptable disregard for animal welfare, raising serious concerns about the potential for further abuses.

We implore you to take this matter seriously and to hold those reportedly responsible for this alleged suffering accountable for their actions. It is essential to ensure that the legal system responds decisively in the face of animal cruelty to protect vulnerable lives and promote a culture of respect and compassion for all creatures.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
