Success: Live Animals No Longer Used for Medical Training

Pig Nick Saltmarsh

Target: James Hicks, Dean of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

Goal: Thank university for ending the cruel practice of medical training on live animals.

Throughout the years, universities in the U.S. and Canada have been banning the use of live animals for medical training. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was the last remaining university to still use this method, however that is now over. The institution has announced that it will no longer use live animals, making it so no more live animals will be used for medical training throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Universities will now use alternative methods, like human simulators that have lifelike skin and organs. The simulators even blink and breathe. This is great news for animals all over and a great sign of progression. This is in part due to the support of the ForceChange community.

Sign this petition and thank the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for ending this cruel practice, thereby saving countless animals from unnecessary pain and torture.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Hicks,

Recently, your university made the groundbreaking announcement that it will no longer use live animals for medical training. This announcement is huge due to the fact that you were the last university in all of the U.S. and Canada to still use live animals. Now, no more animals will be used for medical training throughout the two countries.

This is great news for animals everywhere. Now countless animals will be spared from unnecessary pain, torture and death. Thank you for making the humane decision to end live animal medical training. It is heartwarming to see compassionate decisions being made nationwide.

Sincerely,
