Success: SeaWorld Will Never Again Breed Orcas

Orcas Robert Pittman

Target: Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States

Goal: Thank the Humane Society for all of its hard work in ending breeding at all SeaWorld locations.

SeaWorld has announced that it will never breed another orca again. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) worked hard to come to an agreement with SeaWorld and now the current generation of orcas at SeaWorld will be the last.

Thanks to Blackfish, public outcry, and petitions like the ones at ForceChange, SeaWorld’s profits and attendance has plummeted. SeaWorld CEO, Joel Manby, has announced the company will use its facilities as a sanctuary to house animals who cannot be released back into the wild.

This is a great success for orcas. No orca will ever have to face the life that Tilikum and many others have been subjected to. Sign this petition and thank the HSUS for all of its hard work in this groundbreaking announcement.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Pacelle,

Thanks to you and the rest of your team at the Humane Society of the United States, SeaWorld has announced that they will end all of their captive breeding programs. This means that the current generation of orcas at SeaWorld will be the last.

This is great news for animals and animal lovers alike. Thanks to your efforts, no orca will have to live the life Tilikum and many others have been forced to bear. Again, thank you for all your hard work involved in this amazing news.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
