Target: Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Law Enforcement Department
Goal: Punish dog owner who beat, stabbed, burned and dislocated his dog’s joints with horrific abuse.
One of the most horrific incidents of dog abuse was recently reported. A poor puppy ‘s injuries demonstrate that an abuser beat, stabbed, burned, and dislocated the dog’s joints with severe force. Authorities learned of the puppy when a passerby found her abandoned in a park. When she was found, the dog weighed 18 pounds: this is less than half the recommended body weight of a dog her size. Authorities must pull all resources to bring the abuser of this dog to justice.
Despite the cruel abuse, the puppy experienced some tender care. After a kind stranger discovered the abandoned dog, she took her to a veterinarian. The dog ate and experienced the feeling of a full stomach. Unfortunately, the vet determined that the puppy could not live a life without severe pain and ultimately euthanized the dog. Hundreds of people have gathered in recent days to hold memorials in honor of the lost puppy.
Although this story is heart wrenching, the public must bear in mind that it is unlikely that this abuser will only abuse once. In fact, law enforcement suggested that abuse of this extent could indicate a possible transition from animals to people. Thus, it is imperative that animal lovers remind law enforcement to exhaust all avenues and bring this abuser to justice.
Social media has already used its power to bring publicity to this cause. Sign the petition below to further awareness of this abuse and demand that local law enforcement find justice for the abused puppy.
Dear Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Law Enforcement Department
An abused dog, nicknamed “Puppy Doe,” was found in your jurisdiction. An abuser sadistically tortured this dog: the dog was beaten with a bat or board, starved, had dislocated joints, and burns. This behavior is unacceptable. Further, the disturbed abuser will likely strike again, either on another animal or human.
We demand that you use your resources to find justice for Puppy Doe. Please do not stop until this abuser is punished for the crime and not able to hurt others again.
