Save Species Dying From Climate Change

Target: Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada

Goal: Save species threatened by climate change.

There are at least nine different species in Canada currently in immediate danger due to climate change. The Canadian government needs to do more to stop industries that are directly contributing to this crisis. Even if carbon emissions have declined during the current pandemic, these animals are still in dire need of intervention.

The animals in critical danger are the Vancouver Island marmot, artic caribou, chinook salmon, collared pika, spiny softshell turtle, the narwal, piping plover, Atlantic walrus, and the North Atlantic right whale. The disappearance of these animals will start a chain reaction that will lead to others also facing extinction. For example, the orcas on the west coast feed exclusively on Chinook salmon. If these fish disappear, the further loss of killer whales would have a drastic impact on the aquatic ecosystem.

Sign this petition to remind the Government of Canada to not forget the species that are suffering from climate change.

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

I understand the country, and all the world, is dealing with a global pandemic. However, despite this fact, I would like to remind you not to forget other important issues. In particular, there are nine species of wild animals in Canada that are in immediate danger of disappearing due to the impact of climate change.

I urge you to take this matter very seriously and implement policies that will at the very least slow the impending march of climate change. In particular, ensure that companies follow environmentally sound practices and reduce their negative impact on the planet.
