Save Right Whales From Death By Entanglement

Target: Chris Oliver, Assistant Administrator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Goal: Grant right whales real protection from entanglement.

In the last decade, the right whale population has declined by 25%. These incredible creatures have been washing up dead or injured as a result of entanglement in fishing lines and equipment. In order to protect right whales, the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) must implement emergency requirements on the water to regulate fishing practices.

There is no time to waste, every day that passes, more right whales are being slashed into by fishing lines and losing their lives. We must act now. Sign below and tell NOAA to protect right whales from entanglement and ultimately, extinction.

Dear Mr. Oliver

The right whale population is rapidly declining. There is no question that the high death rates of this endangered species are a direct result of current fishing practices and use of equipment. Right whales have been washing up dead or seriously injured on the shores due to entanglement in fishing lines.

Save right whales from preventable extinction by implementing urgent protections through fishing guidelines and requirements. These measures must be enforced to ensure the survival of this struggling species.
