Justice for 20+ Cats, Dogs, and Squirrels Found in “House of Horrors”

Cats in cage - Christopher Gross

Target: Anna Schildroth, Chair, New Haven Humane Commission, CT

Goal: Protect innocent animals from cruelty and neglect by requiring that alleged animal hoarder obtain mental care.

Over 20 cats, dogs, and even squirrels were reportedly found neglected in a Connecticut home that has since been condemned. The woman allegedly responsible, Donna Scirocco, has been charged with six counts of animal cruelty. These animals deserve justice for their reported suffering in what the press is now calling a “House of Horrors.”

Authorities visited Scirocco’s house after neighbors reported a foul odor and an abundance of rats. Police reportedly found two dozen cats, dogs, squirrels, and even an owl. According to police, they also found two dead cats and a dead woodchuck on the property. Several of the animals had to be euthanized after they were rescued. The rest await their forever homes at local shelters.

Scirocco has been charged with animal cruelty, but it is clear that this case requires more than a slap on the wrist or time behind bars. Scirocco may require mental care to ensure that no other animal is subjected to such neglect. Sign the petition to ask that the New Haven Humane Commission recommend that Scirocco obtain mental care, if found guilty, so that no other animals have to suffer.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Commissioner Schildroth,

A so-called “House of Horrors” was discovered in your district. In the home of Donna Scirocco, two dozen cats, dogs, squirrels, and even an owl were allegedly found so neglected that several had to be euthanized. According to authorities, two dead cats and a dead woodchuck were also found on the property.

Scirocco’s house has been condemned and she has been charged with six counts of animal cruelty. However, the number and type of animals reportedly found on the property appear to indicate that there is more than simple animal abuse at play. It is possible that Scirocco exhibits serious mental disorders that time behind bars won’t solve. I ask that you recommend to the courts that Scirocco be required to undergo mental care so that whatever prompted her to reportedly harm these innocent animals is addressed.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. stop human garbage says:

WTF IS WRONG WITH ENDLESS NUMBERS OF MENTALLY DERANGED AMERICANS? NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO ADDRESS HOARDING PSYCHOPATHIC PEOPLE LIVING IN THIER OWN FECES AND WASTE AND FORCING ANIMALS TO SUFFER THIER MENTALLY DERANGED USELESS SOULLESS WASTED LIVES?
    WHERE IS AMERCA??
WE WANT JUSTICE FOR THE ANIMALS AND WE WANT THESE HUMAN GARBAGE BAGS ARRESTED AND FORCED TO GET PSYCHIATRIC TREATMENT FOR LIFE! NOW!

    • so very well said……no can we get this one in the court system…..animals should have rights as well as humans…..they live and breathe just as we do…..we have to speak out for the ones that have no voice….please please we must put a stop to all these satanic monsters that hate so much they kill & torture animals because of their stupidity.

      • Please remember that anyone who consumes animals or animal products is no different than this serial killer. Farm animals aka food animals also live and breathe just as we do. They also have no voice. But yet people continue to allow their hell on earth as long as it is others who do the torturing. Makes it so easy for someone to go to the store and buy a slab of flesh or a gallon of cow secretion that nicely packaged so you don’t see the animal that was killed for it.

        • Your extreme choice of words is keeping the people who agree with you behind you because of confirmation bias, but you aren’t actually helping animals. The only way to help is to educate those that disagree with you, but your rhetoric will only elicit a defensive reaction. I think you should pinpoint a practical goal and find a clear strategy with proper verbage that will actually help the animal community.

    • AMEN MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY

  2. Animal abusers internationally must have the mandatory death penalty performed. A slow and agonising death for these evil cretins is essential.

  3. There is not enough information in this petition to know what was done to these animals. But do you people ever listen to yourselves!? How can you be judge and jury when you don’t even know this person or all the facts? She clearly is not the first hoarder in the world. She has a mental problem! Yes, I feel horrible for the animals involved. This should never have happened to them. But it HAS, and it’s time to focus on the reason for their abuse so that no MORE happens. The woman is already charged with abuse. Hopefully she will spend time someplace where her mental condition can be cured, AND she shouldn’t be able to own any more animals in the future. All that can be done is to CHANGE the person (hopefully while serving time under observation) and to CHANGE the laws pertaining to animal abuse.

  4. I’m sure a lot of those animals did NOT need to be euthanized and just needed the right medical care.

  5. This HORRIBLE ABUSER needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the Law under the PACT ACT!!! Proverbs 12:10

  6. Why are these pieces of shit allowed to exist?! I’m so tired of hearing about these awful acts with no real punishment given.
