Target: Ralph Guerrero
Goal: Support the arrest of two men who used machetes to beat a dog to death.
A man’s dog was allegedly beaten to death by two men with machetes while on a walk with one of his friends in Merced, California. Reports from the Merced Police Department shows that Robert Guerrero’s 1-year-old Siberian Husky was tied to a fire hydrant and attacked by two men with machetes. Witnesses say that they saw two men walking up to the man walking Guerrero’s dog, took his leash and tied him to a nearby fire hydrant where they beat the dog with machetes.
The injuries were so bad that authorities had no other choice other than to euthanize the dog. Police detained Myron Pattillo and Aaron Carney on suspicion of animal cruelty and robbery in connection to the attack. Both men remained in custody with a bail set at over $100,000 for Pattillo and over $50,000 for Carney. Police discovered that the beating occurred because Guerrero’s dog bit one of the other men’s dogs on a previous day. In interviews, Guerrero said that he would have been willing to pay for any damage his dog caused.
About 50 people came out to protest the attack on the sidewalk where Guerrero’s dog was beaten. They were supporting Guerrero and fighting against animal cruelty after the heinous crime took place.
Please sign this petition to let Ralph Guerrero know that we support him and the arrest of the two men who killed his dog.
Dear Ralph Guerrero,
Your innocent Siberian husky died because of a vicious attack by two men with machetes. The attack appears to be their revenge because they are claiming that your dog bit their dog earlier that week. This incident is sickening and could have been totally avoided. Instead of seeking compensation from you, the two men decided to take matters into their own hands by beating your dog to death.
This attack was outrageous and appalling, to say the least. This is an example of an extreme case of animal abuse and something needs to be done to stop it. We are glad that you received so much support from the fellow animal lovers of Merced. We send our condolences to you and your family and hope that all of the support from the community will help bring awareness about animal abuse.
