Send Help to Flooded Animal Shelters

Target: Texas Governor Greg Abbott

Goal: Send help to animal shelters caring for runaway pets.

Texas got hit with heavy rain recently which was great for the land as there has been a drought for quite some time. However, the rain was not so great for the animals in the area.

Reports say that the heavy rain caused flash flooding, and many animals ran away from their homes as the floods caused confusion and panic.

Because of this, several animal shelters in Texas have an influx of residents that they aren’t equipped for. The Austin Animal Center has taken in 200 animals due to the floods and are urging pet owners to come and claim their lost pets because there is simply not enough room and resources. Urge Governor Greg Abbott to help these shelters.

Dear Governor Abbott,

The recent heavy rains in Texas have caused flash flooding which can be scary and confusing to animals. Because of this, many family pets got lost and couldn’t find their way home.

The Austin Animal Center has taken in 200 animals that the shelter doesn’t have space or resources for. We the undersigned urged you to send much-needed funding to the Austin Animal Center and other shelters that are caring for these displaced pets.

  1. Texans are full of themselves and I don’t see them helping animals!
