Goal: Find and punish the person responsible for the hit and run death of a horse.
A woman was walking her horse named Pom Pay alongside a road when she saw headlights coming right at her. The woman’s sister, who was walking behind her witnessed the horrific event in its entirety. The car never stopped even after it had plowed through the poor animal. While the horse’s owner escaped unharmed, the horse was severely injured and lay on the road suffering for hours while veterinarians responded.
Due to the speed of the impact and the darkness, the sisters were unable to get a vehicle description or license plate number. However, evidence was recovered at the scene, including a windshield wiper.
Law enforcement officials believe the driver of the car probably didn’t even know if they hit a person or an animal, as they sped away without investigating.
Once veterinarians realized that Pom Pay couldn’t be saved, she was euthanized at the scene. “It was a gruesome few hours,” the owner said, adding that she “was traumatized.”

The woman had received Pom Pay, a beautiful Arabian horse, as a gift from a friend seven years ago. Pom Pay, a beautiful Arabian horse, from a friend. She hadn’t owned a horse before but learned to ride with Pom Pay and quickly became a dedicated horse owner.
“When I met her, it was one of those weird things,” she said. “It was an immediate connection. I just learned as fast as I could how to take care of her.”
This is a tragic story that demands justice. Please devote all appropriate resources to finding and prosecuting the person responsible for this sick hit and run.

Unless she was driving a tank,anyone would know they hit a horse. Probably drunk or on drugs so they wouldn’t stop for fear of getting caught.

How could you possibly know the driver was a woman driver–unless you were involved? The riders were both females and the horse was female. Yet you refer to the “ppl with HIM” who “could have been killed. That’s really suspicious. I’m just saying. Or maybe you just don’t like women…
Whoever did this must be found and charged severly and harshly. The person must not get away with this. The person should gave a couple first degree animal cruelty felonies (fir leaving the poor horse to suffer on the side of the road). Then be charged with numerous motor vehicle charges (driving with undo care & attention, probably speeding, hit & run and maybe others). The person must be charged and spend 7 years in prison with no early parole, pay a $500,000 fine, and lose their driver’s license for 5 years.
There is no way on earth you could hit a horse and not know it. I sure knew I hit something when I struck a hapless little squirrel!

Breaks my heart that this beautiful animal suffered and her owner must be heartbroken as well. How does someone not realize they hit a horse? This individual will be found and justice must be served.

From the account, it seems as if the driver deliberately drove right at them. RIP Pom Pay. Her death was tragic and horrific. Pom Pay suffered in agony for hours before she was put to sleep. There is no way the driver did not know they hit something/someone. They need to be caught and severely punished for their callous disregard for another life. Do not listen to excuses, hitting a 1000# animal would cause a considerable amount of damage. Get body shops involved as this vehicle needs front end work.
The driver could have been drunk, possibly. If that is the case, we have a bigger issue. Please find the monster and make him or her pay with their life for the poor horse.

Why in the hell do we have to sign petitions for justice to be done for crimes?? What do we even have law enforcement or a judicial system for?
