Stop Letting Animal Abusers Off With ‘Slap on the Wrist’

Target: José R. Oliva, Speaker of the House, Florida

Goal: Charge individuals who violently abuse animals with a felony.

Violent animal abuse in Florida carries a meager charge, allowing an unknown number of animals to go on being abused and mistreated. Animal cruelty in Florida is only a misdemeanor crime, not a felony. Men and women who do far less and cause no harm to others have faced tougher penalties for their actions than those who have tortured, maimed, or killed animals.

Now, a Florida sheriff is making it his goal to work with state lawmakers to increase the penalty for animal cruelty. This comes after two incidents of disturbing violence were caught on tape. In one video, a woman was caught whipping her dog with a leash. In the other, a man is seen punching his pet dog.

“Folks I don’t care what you’re going through, who you are mad at, or what pathetic excuse you have. There is no justification, explanation or excuse for beating a helpless pet,” said Sheriff Wayne Ivey. Sign the petition to show your support for Ivey and add your voice to his fight. Demand harsher penalties for violent animal abusers.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Representative Oliva,

In Florida, men and women who violently abuse their pets are left with a simple slap on the wrist. After seeing horrific videos of dogs being punched, whipped, and tortured, it is clear this punishment is not enough.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey is asking lawmakers to make animal cruelty and abuse a felony crime. I’m adding my voice to his call. Enact tougher penalties on those who intentionally inflict pain and cruelty on innocent pets.

Sincerely,

This is UNACCEPTABLE, Florida!!! These are living beings that are abused.

  3. Animal abusers internationally must have the death penalty implemented and nothing less. I am ready, willing and able to help perform this procedure ensuring that these scumbag animal abusers endure a slow and agonising death!

  4. What have the naive and helpless animals done to humans to suffer. As Animal lovers we must join Together and make sure the Law Increases more punishment to these Sadists

FLORIDA IS THE NUMBER ONE STATE FOR ANIMAL ABUSE REPORTINGS AND APPARENTLY THE STATE TO BEAT AN ANIMAL TO DEATH AND GET OFF WITH A SLAP ON THE WRIST!!! OVER AND OVER AGAIN! ALL YOUR STATES MANY MANY IMMIGRANTS BRING WITH THEM THEIR THIRD WORLD BARBARIC ACTS OF CRUELTY AGAINST ANIMALS AND YOUR AUTHORITIES LET THEM. THIS IS AMERICA THIS IS 2020 AND WE SHOULD ARREST DETAIN PROSECUTE INCARCERATE AND DEPORT EVERY ONE OF THEM. YOUR DAUGHTER COULD BE TARGETED NEXT!

  6. Florida seems to be one of those states that is still turning a blind eye to animal abuse. There is an illegal slaughterhouse on every corner, horses are being stolen right from their own stalls in their own barns and are being slaughter right outside the door. THIS MUST BE STOPPED NOW. FLORIDA NEEDS TO REMEMBER THESE CRIMES ARE AGAINST THE MOST INNOCENT WHO ARE UNABLE TO SCREAM THEIR ABUSE. GET WITH THE REST OF THE STATES AND START PUNISHING THESE MISCREANTS INSTEAD OF BEING SO SOFT ON ABUSE AND TORTURE.

  7. What the hell is the matter with the people of Florida, possibly too much time in the sun that you can’t figure anything out.
How many animals have to die at the hands of humans because there are no penalties stiff enough to levy upon the abusers? The abusers should be getting the death penalty – they are taking thousands of animals lives daily all for some warped sense of idea that it is their God given right to abuse and torture animals. Well you know for all of us that care and love the animals we would all be ready to stand there together unified to pull the plug on your f*cking useless lives. Wake up Florida and handle this problem and do something right.

  8. Animal abusers internationally must have the death penalty implemented and nothing less. I am ready, willing and able to help perform this procedure. A fine or prison is not appropriate for these vile scumbags!

  9. A life is a life. Torturers and murderers need to be eliminated from society via cruel ending of their lives.

  10. SEVERE LAWS MUST BE PASSED AND THEN ENFORCED. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS INSANITY.ANIMAL ABUSE, TORTURE AND MURDER IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE AND IT MUST BE STOPPED. WE THE PUBLIC DEMAND THAT THIS HAPPENS AND WE ARE WATCHING TO MAKE SURE THAT HAPPENS!

LOCK UP THE JUDGE AND GET THEM A NEW JOB BECAUSE THEY TOTALLY BLOW AT THIS ONE! ITS THE USELESS JUDGES THAT ARE THE REAL POWER BEHIND THE ENDLESS ABUSERS AND THEY KNOW IT!!!! FLORIDA IS THE NUMBER ONE STATE FOR ANIMAL ABUSE BY A LONG SHOT BECAUSE OF LOUSY JUDGES!!
