Pregnant Dog Reportedly Starved and Infested With Maggots Deserves Justice

Target: Christopher Boring, District Attorney for Woodward County, Oklahoma

Goal: Punish the person who allegedly neglected a seriously ill pregnant dog until she was starving.

A pregnant dog, named Annie, was reportedly starved, denied veterinary care, and forced to miscarry alone in a driveway in a horrific case of animal cruelty. She became so ill, per rescuers, that she lost all ten of her puppies and vomited maggots. The suspect claimed that she had taken in too many animals to be able to care for them all. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

Annie was apparently discovered in a driveway in Oklahoma in the midst of a late-term miscarriage, one stillborn puppy halfway out of her body. Reportedly extremely dehydrated, malnourished, and infested with maggots, she could not support the pregnancy and her suffering continued when an infected wound led to repeated hemorrhaging and endangered her life.

Annie was transported to an animal hospital in Colorado and miraculously survived. Her former owner, Maranda Dawne Weber, has been charged with felony animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that she receive an appropriate penalty, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Boring,

A pregnant dog named Annie reportedly miscarried alone in a driveway, her life nearly ending in the process. Found with one puppy halfway out of her body, she was seemingly so malnourished and dehydrated that she could no longer carry the pregnancy. A C-section saved Annie’s life, but none of her ten puppies survived. That, unfortunately, was only the beginning of Annie’s suffering.

Annie’s body was infested with maggots, per veterinarians, and she had wounds that bled continuously despite medical intervention. She nearly died, but thanks to rescuers and her fighting spirit, she prevailed.

There is no excuse for the amount of suffering this dog allegedly endured at the hands of her owner, Maranda Dawne Weber. Weber has been charged with felony animal cruelty in this case. If found guilty, she must face the harshest penalty possible by law.
