Dog Shot in Face and Left for Dead Deserves Justice

Target: Hays Webb, District Attorney for Tuscaloosa County, Alabama

Goal: Punish the person who shot a dog in the left cheek, shattering her jaw and leaving her for dead.

A dog was shot in the face and left for dead in a disturbing case of animal cruelty. Her jaw was shattered by the bullet, making it difficult for her to breathe and eat. Demand justice for this innocent animal.

“This is very serious. The bullet technically went to the left side of her jaw, shattered, fragmented and the fragments are still in her body,” stated Deputy Martha Hocutt of the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies found the dog, named Remy, in a local yard and immediately brought her to emergency services due to her difficulty in breathing. Tests confirmed that Remy had been shot in the left cheek, just under her eye, and her throat and mouth were dangerously swollen. A feeding tube was placed to help Remy eat and she underwent multiple surgeries. Thankfully, she is expected to recover with the help of local veterinarians and rescuers.

This investigation is ongoing. The person who shot Remy is still at large and likely dangerous to other animals. Sign below and demand that this person, once identified, is prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Webb,

An innocent dog was shot in the face and then abandoned in a case that has horrified Tuscaloosa rescuers and veterinarians. Name Remy by her rescuers, the dog suffered a shattered jaw and a swollen throat and mouth due to the impact of the bullet to her left cheek. She endured multiple surgeries and a feeding tube placement and is now, finally, on the road to recovery.

Remy was only moments away from death and the person responsible for her injuries must be brought to justice. I demand that you prosecute this person, once they are identified, and seek the maximum penalty possible in this case in order to ensure that no other animal has to suffer.

Sincerely,

  2. I have worked as a Forensic Mental Health Professional and trauma therapist for over 25 years. During this time, I have contracted with jails, prisons, and community corrections in various states, after working as a correctional officer for a few years. I can attest that there is a very strong correlation between the way people treat animals of any kind and the way they can all-too-easily, and without hesitation, remorse, or empathy, treat fellow human beings. If you would not want your son, daughter, sister, brother, grandchild, or parent treated this way, take a stand and sign every petition against animal abuse that you can find – wild and domestic, in the USA and across the world! YES, the pictures & videos are heart-wrenching but ignoring them does not solve the problem. Be brave for the innocent; when you ignore this cruel, heart-less behavior, you are giving more power to the abusers.

Why is it Alabama has rampant cruelty…if judges and prosecutors would actually PROSECUTE these monsters it might slow down the numbers of abuse!

  4. Animal abusers internationally must have the death penalty implemented.

  5. This horrible abuser needs to be punished under The PACT ACT which President Trump signed into Law November 2019 which makes it a Federal CRIME to abuse ANY ANIMAL. It is punishable by imprisonment. There are many inmates that do not take kindly to anyone who abuses a child or an animal. Proverbs 12:10

  6. WICKED AND EVIL SCUMS OF THIS EARTH–GOD’S WRATH BE UPON ALL WHO ABUSE AND DECIMATE HIS CREATURES ..THEY NEED A DEADLY VIRUS BY ANY NAME SO THEY ARE CRIPPLED AND NOT ABLE TO HURT ANY OTHER VOICELESS SOULS.
