Dogs Reportedly Cooked to Death in Hot Car Deserve Justice

Target: Timothy D. Sini, District Attorney for Suffolk County, New York

Goal: Punish the man who allegedly left six dogs inside of a car for 11 hours on a hot day, leading to the deaths of three.

Three dogs died after they were allegedly left in a hot car for more than 11 hours. Reportedly locked in cages, the dogs had no means of escape from the deadly heat. The dogs’ owner reportedly told police that he had nowhere else to put them while he went to work. Demand justice for these innocent dogs.

Two witnesses contacted the Suffolk County Police Department to report six Rottweilers trapped inside of an SUV in the parking lot of a shopping center. When police arrived, they reportedly pulled three dead dogs and three suffering dogs from the extremely hot car. The dogs had been locked in cages, police confirmed, and the temperature reached 90 degrees outside of the car. Per witnesses, the car’s windows were completely closed, and the engine was turned off.

The surviving dogs were taken to the Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter for evaluation and treatment. Carmine Dapruzzo has been charged with animal cruelty, and he will be arraigned at a later date. Sign below and demand that Dapruzzo receive the maximum penalty possible by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Sini,

Three dogs died and three more suffered when they were allegedly locked inside of a hot car for over 11 hours. The temperature reportedly reached 90 degrees outside, and the car became like an oven. We demand justice for these innocent dogs.

Suffolk County police arrested Carmine Dapruzzo on charges of animal cruelty after he allegedly kept six Rottweilers inside of an SUV on a hot day. Police reportedly pulled three dead dogs from locked cages inside of the car, and three more showed signs of distress. The car was not left running, police stated, and none of the windows were rolled down. Rescuers took the three surviving dogs to the Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter for evaluation. Dapruzzo will be arraigned at a later date.

These dogs suffered a terrible death, and the person responsible must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Even if it had not been hot and all the windows were open no animal should be shut in a confined space like a car let alone 6 even in a house six dogs it would have to be a mansion. Make the punishment fit the crime, put him in a cage in a car close all the windows and leave him there for ll hours.

  2. ladonichais says:

In addition to my earlier comment, surely at some time during that l1 hrs. someone must have seen these dogs why did nobody do anything to help them. If necessary break the windows of the car anything. No caring person would even think of ignoring this situation.
