Punish Pig Owner Who Allegedly Left Animal in a Hot Car

Target: Xavier Becerra, Attorney General of California

Goal: Charge and prosecute owner of a pig allegedly left inside a hot car.

A pig was rescued from a hot car in California, just moments before he could have died from the heat. According to news reports, the authorities discovered the pig sitting in the back seat; thankfully, they were able to track down the owner and release the pig before it was too late. However, there is no word on whether the owner will be charged.

Leaving animals in a locked vehicle is not only dangerous and cruel, but illegal, especially during the summer months. This particular pig was lucky, but many other animals have not been; many dogs or cats have died in the past few years after being left alone in hot cars. The heat inside a car rises very quickly, making locked vehicles of any kind near-instant tombs for animals and small children alike. This holds especially true for states like California, which are perpetually warm.

It is unknown as to why the owner allegedly allowed the pig to remain in the vehicle alone, but regardless of intentions, there is no excuse for endangering an animal’s life in such a way. Sign this petition to ensure that the owner is charged for allegedly endangering the pig, and prosecuted if found guilty.

Dear Attorney General Becerra,

The owner of a BMW reportedly left their pig in the back seat alone, with the vehicle locked. The authorities thankfully rescued the animal in time. However, had the animal been left alone in the vehicle any longer, he could have died like many animals within the past few years. Being left alone in a vehicle on a hot day is one of the main killers of animals, especially during the summer months, and such a thing has been illegal for decades.

It is unknown as to whether the owner was or will be charged. Whatever their reasoning, however, there is no excuse and such actions must not go unpunished. You must ensure that the owner faces charges of animal neglect and cruelty for allegedly endangering the pig’s life, and that they are prosecuted if found guilty.

Some times people have to learn the hard way. This person should get some sort of punishment. There is no excuse for this neglect. Thank God this poor pig was rescued in time.

  2. Kathleen Scherman says:

This man does not deserve to have any type of animal!! He needs to be prosecuted to the fullest!!

  3. Linda Hilty-Tuttle says:

Apparently, there are people on this earth who easily forget that animals BREATHE OXYGEN, the same as THEY do! Until they can remember this basic need, they must never own an animal of any kind!!!!

  4. Karen Mckay says:

This idiot needs to be charged. He also needs to be locked inside a hot car and left for a few hours, then maybe he will learn!!!
