Send 132 Animals Rescued from a Zoo to a Sanctuary

Target: Guillermo Haro Bélchez, Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection, Mexico

Goal: Send 132 rescued zoo animals to a sanctuary.

After an incident involving a zookeeper mauled to death by a zoo lion, Mexican officials decided to investigate the zoo and the unfit conditions the animals were left in. The Nicolas Bravo Zoo in Tulancingo, Mexico was considered one of the worst facilities in the country, according to animal activists.

The animals were allegedly found in horrendous conditions, and the park reportedly failed to provide documentation for how the animals were obtained. The zoo was shut down, but that doesn’t mean much for the animals that were kept in the zoo. The rescued animals are now going to be shipped to a new zoo and continue their lives in captivity. We need your help in order to stop these animals from being sent to new zoos. Demand that the 132 animals rescued from the Nicolas Bravo Zoo be sent to a sanctuary.

Dear Mr. Bélchez,

The Nicolas Bravo Zoo reportedly held animals in inadequate conditions. They allegedly spent their lives in horrifying conditions, and action was not taken until a zookeeper was mauled to death by a lion at the zoo. Reportedly, this zoo did not keep up standards, and the animals were miserable and unhealthy. Luckily, the zoo was shut down, but this isn’t enough for the animals rescued from this zoo.

Most of the animals rescued from the zoo are going to be sent to a new zoo and will never get to experience freedom. These animals deserve better after living their lives in such unfit conditions. We demand that the animals that were rescued from the Nicolas Bravo Zoo be sent to a sanctuary where they can live out the remainder of their lives.

  1. Immediately send these poor, abused animals to the safety of a sanctuary where they will be properly cared for with others like them! Can’t say I’m sorry for the one mauled by the lion. This should teach people, no animals in captivity!

  2. Derinda Nilsson says:

Why is it so hard for people to be good to animals? The only reason this person was mauled is because he was most likely abusing this lion, and wanted to defend itself. Release these poor animals to the sanctuary, witch I hope is better than this disgusting zoo. Zoo’s are hell for animals. Don’t ever visit them it will break your heart. I’m done with zoo’s and circuses.

  3. Ginger Neimo says:

These animals belong in their own environment. Any where else its just a prison no matter how pretty you make it.
