Target: Kristen Laue, Animal Control Warden
Goal: Fully prosecute the woman who allegedly abused 150 dogs and cats by failing to care for and killing nearly half of them.
An arrest warrant is out for a woman who allegedly left 150 dogs and cats in a hoarding situation in her house without proper food, water, shelter and care. Because of the mistreatment, authorities found 29 dead cats and 36 dead dogs in and around the home. Authorities said they found some dead dogs in the freezer, in garbage bags and in bins.
Some animals are in such bad condition they may need to be euthanized. Others are crippled or have cases of worms, ear mites, skin problems or other diseases from living in such unsanitary conditions. The animals ranged from newborns to senior dogs. The house was reported as having feces and urine everywhere. Animals were found all over, including in the oven and in closets. Some were even locked away in crates or stuck to the filthy floor. With such cramped, stressful and unsanitary living conditions, many of the animals would fight each other and are now wounded.
Fortunately, some animals were able to be rescued and are currently being nursed back to health. Once they are healthy, they will be up for adoption. However, this woman is still on the loose. When she is caught, she needs to be punished to the full extent of the law for her sickening crimes against these innocent animals. Animal neglect and mistreatment cannot be taken lightly, and this woman should face the strictest consequences as well as never be allowed to own animals again.
Dear Mrs. Laue,
A Freeport woman is on the loose after allegedly mistreating more than 150 dogs and cats by keeping them in a hoarding situation in her home. Nearly half of them were found dead and stuffed away like they weren’t even real creatures but rather garbage. Many of the remaining animals are sick with worms, ear mites, skin problems, and other diseases or are crippled thanks to this woman’s lack of care.
I am grateful to your team for rescuing these animals and nursing them back to health, then finding them better homes. However, when this woman is caught, I urge you to punish her to the full extent of the law for her sickening crimes against these innocent animals. Animal abuse and neglect cannot be taken lightly, and this woman should face the strictest consequences as well as never be allowed to own animals again.
