Dog Reportedly Covered in Maggots and Matted Hair Deserves Justice

Target: Timothy D. Sini, District Attorney for Suffolk County, New York

Goal: Charge the man who allegedly neglected his dog, leading to a maggot infestation and severely matted hair, with the maximum penalty possible by law.

A dog was covered in maggots and matted hair due to alleged neglect. The suspect reportedly brought the dog into a veterinarian to be euthanized. Demand justice for this poor dog.

“In all my years, I’ve never seen it that bad,” stated Dr. Arnold Lesser of the New York Veterinary Specialty Center. Hakim El-Quhir reportedly brought Fluffy, an 8-year-old cockapoo, into the clinic and asked for her to be euthanized. An examination showed that Fluffy was crawling with maggots and covered in feces and urine. Her hair was so severely matted, the veterinarian stated, that she could not even stand or walk on her own.

The Babylon Animal Shelter took custody of Fluffy and she is now recovering. Suffolk County SPCA detectives charged El-Quhir with animal cruelty and he will answer his charges at a later date. Sign below to demand that El-Quhir receives the maximum penalty possible by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Sini,

A dog was reportedly denied basic medical care, leading to severely matted hair and a maggot infestation. The suspect reportedly brought the dog into a veterinary clinic to be euthanized. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Suffolk County SPCA detectives charged Hakim El-Quhir with animal cruelty after he allegedly neglected his dog for months. Fluffy, an 8-year-old cockapoo, was reportedly covered in maggots, feces, and urine when she was brought into the New York Veterinary Specialty Center. Her hair had become so matted, the veterinarian stated, that she could not stand or walk. She also suffered a deep cut on her back leg, reports showed. The Babylon Animal Shelter took custody of Fluffy and she is recovering. El-Quhir could face jail time, if convicted.

This alleged neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

There is no excuse for this poor dog’s condition. This did not happen overnight. I can only imagine the pain and suffering this poor dog has gone thru. That man needs to be punished to the FULL extent of the law possible, and even that won’t be enough. Please don’t let him get away with a slap on the wrist, and he needs to never own another animal as long as he lives. When I see a poor animal in this kind of condition, I see red and want to really hurt someone.

Hakim El-Quhir “could face jail time, if convicted”? What do you mean…COULD? He absolutely should go to jail for such horrific neglect and abuse of a dear animal! DO NOT LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS ATROCITY!!! MAKE HIM PAY!!!!

  6. So this means that the vet actually euthanized this dog instead of seeking permission from the owner to adopt it out to another home? What kind of veterinarian would just euthanize a dog that needed help and could be helped? Sorry, but both were wrong.

  7. This monster should go directly to jail do not pass go and pay the piper. I hope this poor dog finds a wonderful new home and this slime ball monster goes to jail, is fined a huge amount, ban them from ever having or around animals and demand psychiatric help as he is more than a real sicko.

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH PEOPLE TODAY?? WHY ARE THEY SO CRUEL,VILE,EVIL AND INHUMANE?? WE MUST PASS EXTREME LAWS THAT ARE ENFORCED TO STOP THIS CRAP NOW!!
