Don’t Allow HBO to Use Live Animals on ‘Westworld’

Target: Casey Bloys, President of HBO

Goal: Do not allow HBO to use abused elephants.

A popular HBO show has reportedly used abused elephants on set. HBO’s Westworld allows you to explore the idea of living with interactive, lifelike robots. They allow you to live out your wildest fantasies, which involve murder, and, apparently, animal abuse. In a recent episode of Westworld, there were scenes in which guests were able to ride elephants in the park. The producers of the show opted to use real elephants.

Using elephants for entertainment should not be condoned. When animals are used for Hollywood, many times they are abused, and this is reportedly the case for the elephants used in Westworld. The elephants were from Have Trunk Will Travel. This organization was reportedly seen on video shooting its elephants with stun guns and beating them with bull-hooks, and a baby elephant was reportedly seen being hit in the head and dragged by its trunk. HBO should not condone this type of animal abuse or willingly pay this company that abuses their animals. Demand that HBO no longer use live animals in its shows.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Bloys,

The use of live animals for television entertainment should not be allowed. The elephants recently used on the show Westworld were reportedly forced to perform in order to provide entertainment for humans. These elephants were reportedly seen on camera being abused in multiple different ways by the company that provided them. HBO should not condone this type of animal abuse, and these animals should not be put through this abuse for entertainment.

The elephants on the show should not be real. Action needs to be taken, and HBO should no longer allow its shows to use live animals. We demand that HBO no longer pay money to people who abuse their animals and live animals are no longer used on HBO shows.

Sincerely,

  1. Entertainment can be done without the use of animals. This is sad.

  2. Linda Hilty-Tuttle says:

Knock it off with the “live animals for entertainment” garbage!
Not at all necessary! I keep hoping we’ve advanced our civilization much further than the days of the barbaric Romans –
but it doesn’t seem we have – by much!!!

  3. Derinda Nilsson says:

I refuse to watch these programs that abuse animals. Ratings? This is down rite disgusting, as a matter of fact I will disconnect HBO from my order. Come on HBO you have all kinds of technology to make it look as if you have real elephants. This isn’t good acting either, its using animals once again to gain profit. SHAME ON YOU HBO.

  4. This is discussing and so cruel it is unreal what people get away with without ending up dead themselves

  5. Mary J Zambrana says:

Exploitation again for what gain? I feel as though I’m talking to the wall when I complain about using ANY animal for mere greed. Circuses, sideshows, television exploitation and all forms of abuse sicken those of us who want nothing but freedom and respect for our coinhabitants. I have never had HBO service, but I think that if enough users would cut off their accounts with HBO it would send a loud, clear message to the company. Live animals in your products, no more support for HBO. Plain and simple.

  6. STOP USING LIVE ANIMALS IN YOUR PRODUCTS! WE ALL DON’T SUPPORT HBO FOR SURE!!! ANIMALS DON’T OWE YOU ANYTHING AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS TO TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED TO EARN SINFUL MONEY! STOP BEING SELFISH N ESPECIALY GREED!! GREED IS A BIG SIN!!
