Praise Versace for Ending Use of Fur

Target: Donatella Versace, Vice President of Versace

Goal: Praise Versace for no longer using fur in its products.

After years of supporting the fur industry, the design house Versace has decided to go fur free for its future collections. This is a great victory for animals.

Animals trapped within the fur industry face a variety of mental and physical hardships. They are often confined in small, cramped wire cages where they have limited access to food, clean water, and sunshine. The animals are typically crudely killed much before their time. Common ways of killing include neck-breaking, strangulation, suffocation, and poisoning. These methods  are not always effective, which means many animals are skinned alive.

Sign this petition to praise Versace for no longer using fur along with other designers Michael Kors, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, and BCBG.

Dear Ms. Versace,

You recently announced in an interview with Vogue that Versace would no longer be using fur in its collections. I was ecstatic to hear this news.

As you know, animals trapped within the fur industry face unimaginable horrors daily. They are typically kept in small, dirty wire cages and rarely see sunlight. The animals are killed young and in whatever way the workers deem most convenient. Common ways include strangulation, suffocation, neck-breaking, anal electrocution, and poisoning. Sometimes, animals are even skinned alive. The fur industry is cruel and relentless.

Thank you for ending Versace’s use of fur. You are now joining designers Michael Kors, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, BCBG, Ralph Lauren, and J. Crew in the fight against fur.

  2. Thank you for your pledge to not use fur in your fashions, but please keep a close eye on your suppliers. Sometimes “faux” fur ends up being real.

  3. So why do you think the great Versace is not going to use fur? Wouldn’t happen to be for ethical reasons, by any chance? Of course not – the demand just isn’t there anymore, because most civilised people refuse to wear it. It’s all about money, folks. Fashion industry has always been about money over morals.

  4. Ginger Neimo says:

Gee talk about crawling. I for one will not say thank you as when it will suit them they will go back to fur-GUARANTEED

  5. Thank you for stopping the use of fur for fashion. I sincerely hope that you really have realised the cruelty and barbarism that goes into the rearing and slaughter of these innocent animals. Their only crime is being born with a fur coat, our crime is greed and vanity. Please keep the ban permanent.

  6. Grazie Versace, tu si che hai capito! Spero che altre case di moda seguino il tuo esempio

  7. lynn woods says:

I hope this is true and not just a fake story I can’t stand fur unless it’s where it belongs on the animal not on some rich bitches back. If it’s true I thank you but if it’s not may you and all who kill and torture animals for there fur or the people that wear it burn in hell

  8. Cynthia Mattera says:

Thank you for your kindness and compassion for these beautiful animals!

  9. Derinda Nilsson says:

Every animal lover is very happy about this news. We don’t really look good in fur. Only the animal that it was born with. If we were meant to were fur we would have been born with it. So THANK YOU. And don’t ever go back to selling fur.

  10. Thank you so very much, truly, I mean it. And by chance, if you happen to know anyone else that promotes such a cruel industry, we ask that you ask them to do the right thing!

Let’s make it a better world for ALL animals!
