Thank Man for Building Affordable Dog Wheelchairs

Smiling Dog

Target: Dragan Dimitrijevic, Belgrade computer programmer

Goal: Thank Dragan Dimitrijevic for building affordable wheelchairs for dogs all over Serbia and other Balkan countries.

When Dragan Dimitrijevic built his first dog wheelchair for his dog Mica, who had suffered a spinal injury, he had no idea that he would soon help improve the lives of many other disabled and injured cats and dogs all over Serbia and other Balkan countries. What started as one small project has become a successful small business geared towards helping disabled pets run, play and do many of the things regular pets are able to do.

When many pet owners with pets in similar situations such as Mica began calling Dimitrijevic asking if he could build their pets their very own wheelchair, he was surprised but didn’t turn them away. Dimitrijevic’s wheelchair business is less about profit and more about helping these pets. When building his homemade animal wheelchairs, Dimitrijevic consults with veterinarians to ensure that each wheelchair will fit each animal and its particular disability or injury.

For many pet owners, Dimitrijevic’s wheelchairs are an incredible gift since the may not be able to afford the average animal wheelchair from European Union countries, which cost much more. With Dimitrijevic’s kind heart and handy skills many disabled pets will be able to run and play like other animals. Sign this petition and thank Dragan Dimitrijevic for his contribution towards improving the lives of these animals.

Dear Dragan Dimitrijevic,

As a fellow animal lover, I believe that what you are doing to help disabled and injured animals is wonderful. These pets probably would not have had the chance to run and play like other pets without the help of your homemade wheelchairs. The fact that your wheelchairs are much more affordable than the average wheelchair from other European Union countries gives the owners an option other than euthanizing their disabled pets.

I think that it is great that your small wheelchair business is focused more on improving the lives of these animals and less about making a profit. The fact that these animals will be able to run and play with other pets and be completely happy must be the greatest reward ever.

Thank you for all of your hard work in building these animal wheelchairs. I am sure these animals and their owners are grateful for your kindness and truly appreciate everything you have done for them.

  3. My poor Border Collie Glen, had an accident last year and injured his leg. He was operated without success and the vet advised us to put him to ever lasting sleep. Broke my heart. I wish he were still here with only three legs and the aid of a wheel chair. Miss him.

Your comment left me very sad, Yvonne. Why did you admit the doctors proposal❓I know some dogs living happily with only three legs. I do not envy you, you are surely feeling guilty now. Do not be too sad, you did not know better. At that moment you should have known Dragan.I’ll remember you and your Glen.

  5. Thank you & God bless you for having the kindness and compassion to do this wonderful work! ♥

  6. Wow Dragan, you are amazing, there is definitely a star in heaven for you!
