Demand Justice for Animals Left to Starve to Death

Target: Polk County, North Carolina District Attorney Greg Newman

Goal: Enforce the full penalty for the man and woman who allegedly severely neglected animals, resulting in six deaths.

Deputies in Polk County, North Carolina investigated a farm for animal cruelty after receiving complaints about the welfare of animals in the farm’s care. Four alpacas and one llama were reportedly found dead, with deputies citing inadequate food and insufficient hay for shelter as the cause of death.

An additional llama was allegedly found in such horrible condition that it was necessary to euthanize the animal immediately. Luckily police were able to rescue 12 remaining animals on the farm, but the animals were in such poor health that they required intense medical attention and isolation from healthy animals. When the animals return to good health, they will be placed on farms that will actually care for them the proper way.

Although it’s extremely fortunate that some of these animals were able to be spared from further suffering, it was a significant act of animal cruelty that led to the saddening and unnecessary deaths of six animals. Neglecting animals by starving them to death and leaving them without sufficient shelter is horrific and needs to be addressed with severe consequences.

Charges are pending against the man and woman who allegedly committed this crime, but they need to receive the full penalty for murdering animals in the event that they are found guilty. By signing this petition, you will encourage the local police to enforce the maximum penalty for animal cruelty and send a message that such acts will not be tolerated.

Dear Mr. Newman,

I am shocked to hear of the horrific acts of animal cruelty in your district that resulted in the rescue of 12 animals from deplorable conditions. It’s incredibly saddening that six of the animals had to die from starvation before animal control was able to rescue them.

This kind of behavior by people who are responsible for the lives of animals is completely unacceptable, and the farm owners need to face the maximum penalty for their sickening actions in the event that they are found guilty. I urge you to send a message about the seriousness of animal cruelty and its consequences by enforcing the maximum penalty against the man and woman who allegedly starved these animals to emaciation and death.

Beautiful creatures at the mercy of human monsters! What is wrong with people? Would they do this to their own children?

    Teach Compassion!

  2. What is wrong with people today????? SO CRUEL!

  3. sick evil bastards. i just hope they get what they deserve some time in their life.

  4. Some people should NEVER own animals!!

  5. Valerie Nordberg says:

Do not allow any “mitigating circumstances” to lessen the sentence. Those animals relied on those people for food, water and shelter and were cruelly denied all three.

  6. Immense animal cruelty has always existed, it is just more obvious now–and, perhaps, has worsened. There seem to be more crazy, angry, hateful sociopaths than ever!

  7. The punishment MUST be severe — Society MUST NOT let this be repeated — Just horrific — cruel & unconscionable — these idiots lack rationality, they lack compassion, not to mention their actions are immoral, criminal and shameful — clearly, they’re mentally unstable — LOCK THEM UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY!
