Dog Allegedly Starved to Death in Filthy Crate Deserves Justice

Target: David F. Capeless, District Attorney for Berkshire County, Massachusetts

Goal: Demand that the couple who allegedly allowed their dog to starve to death in a locked crate receive the maximum penalty by law.

A dog died a painful death when the poor animal was allegedly locked inside of a crate and abandoned. The dog reportedly had no access to food or water and lived amongst feces. Demand justice for this poor dog.

North Adams police arrested Trista Williams and Jesse Leydet after they allegedly abandoned their dog, Tig, in a crate without access to food or water. Per police, Leydet’s ex-wife contacted them after she saw what appeared to be a dead dog through a window. Police reportedly arrived to find Tig already deceased inside of a locked crate. Feces littered the entire inside of the crate, and stacks of garbage stood six feet tall inside of the home, reports stated. A bowl of food and water sat near the crate, police stated, but Tig was unable to access them.

Williams and Leydet were each charged with one count of cruelty to an animal, a dog rabies vaccination violation, and a miscellaneous municipal bylaw violation. Sign below and demand that Williams and Leydet receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Capeless,

A dog was allegedly starved to death in a shocking case of animal cruelty. Police reportedly found the deceased dog inside of a crate with a bowl of food and water just outside of the locked door. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

North Adams police charged Trista Williams and Jesse Leydet with animal cruelty after they allegedly abandoned their dog inside of a locked crate without access to food or water. The dog, named Tig, reportedly lived in feces, and stacks of garbage were strewn throughout the house. The house did not have working heat, police stated, and bowls of food and water were just out of Tig’s reach. Williams and Leydet were released on their own recognizance and will answer their charges at a later date.

This torture and neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

This is sickening animals need human care And if you can’t give them proper love and care type should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

  3. Kathy Lenehan says:

Mr. Capeless, there is nothing that warrants the extreme cruelty and torture Tig endured for weeks at the hands of Trista Williams and Jesse Leydet. This dog entrusted its life to sadistic people I can’t even describe as human. Instead of bringing Tig to a shelter where an appropriate home could be found this poor soul endured weeks of severe pain, thirst, hunger, and fear at the hands of these monsters. Please ensure they will be punished to the fullest extent of the law to send a message that my home state will not tolerate this kind of treatment against any living being!

  4. Dianne Parker says:

As you sit on your bench sentencing these cruel sadistic non-human beings… think about the agony that Tig felt as she laying dying in a locked crate… with her food and water bowl within her smell but beyond her reach. Her death should not be forgotten or pushed aside as if she never existed. These two should go to jail for a long time… or at least locked up with no food or water to see how dying feels like that!

  5. Jennifer Kleinman says:

Until the penalty is harsh enough these people (not people scumbags) will continue to do horrific things. Actually, they should be lobotomized like in the old days and then they can’t harm anyone or anything!

  6. this person MUST BE FOUND, JAILED, FINED HEAVILY. Also, this person must be put in a tiny cage & not given water or food! Let him get a taste of his own cruel treatment to a dog.

  7. This couple needs to pay big time. Throw them in jail without food or water until they die. Justice served. People like this shouldn’t be walking our streets.

  8. I feel sick. Poor little thing, I can’t stop thinking about the prolonged agony, hurt and anxiety this animal went through. They left food and water out of Tig’s reach to torture him even more. Punish these monsters, better yet put a bullet in their brains. People who get off on torturing defenseless creatures need to be removed from society – I have not one doubt it’s just a matter of time before they do it all over again to another animal or human.
