Praise Tyson Foods For Dropping Abusive Supplier

Target: Tom Hayes, CEO of Tyson Foods

Goal: Commend Tyson company for cutting ties with supplier accused of horrific cruelty toward chickens.

Tyson Foods has terminated its contract with Atlantic Farms after a video was released which seemed to reveal horrific cruelty taking place at the facility. Workers at the facility were reportedly seen crushing, stomping, and stabbing chickens in addition to throwing sick birds onto piles of dead ones. The conditions in which the birds are allegedly forced to live in are deplorable.

Meat farms have a history of covering up maltreatment of their animals in order to piggyback on the profits made by big meat corporations. Animals suffer horribly, forced to live in their own waste and slaughtered inhumanely, fed GMOs and hormones to increase meat production. Atlantic Farms seems to prize quantity over quality, caring more for high numbers than for the well-being of their animals.

Thanks to video footage exposing this abuse, companies now have the choice to drop these suppliers. Tyson has made the right choice in dropping Atlantic Farms, refusing to sell meat from such horribly abused chickens. Sign this petition to thank them for standing up for the well-being of livestock.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Hayes,

Thank you for terminating your contract with Atlantic Farms poultry upon viewing video footage of workers horrifically abusing the facility’s birds. Your company has been advertised as providing good, fresh chicken to customers, but the meat supplied by an abusive facility is more than likely of poor quality, contradicting your objective. By cutting ties with Atlantic Farms, you are doing your best to uphold your reputation.

Too many meat suppliers have gotten away with mistreating their animals in the past, but thanks to the video footage, you were able to make the right choice. Thank you for taking the footage seriously and refusing to do business with Atlantic Farms any longer.

Sincerely,

I commend Tyson for doing this. All companies need to investigate to make sure that all animals are being treated well. There is no excuse for animal cruelty of any kind.
