Dog Reportedly Forced to Live with Painful Skin Condition Deserves Justice

Target: Joseph I. Cassilly, State’s Attorney for Hartford County, Connecticut

Goal: Demand that the people who allegedly starved their dog and neglected to treat his painful skin condition receive the maximum penalty by law.

A dog was allegedly starved and denied vital veterinary care in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The dog suffered from a severe skin condition, which his owners reportedly neglected to treat. Demand justice for this poor dog.

When a concerned citizen found a Shar-Pei mix wandering down a New Britain street, they immediately rushed the frail dog to a veterinarian and called the police. Per the veterinarian, the dog suffered from mange, a painful skin condition, and was so emaciated that he only had days to live. New Britain police identified the dog’s owners, Emily Vazquez and Emmanuel Vazquez, and questioned them about the dog’s deteriorating condition. Emily Vazquez reportedly gave contradictory answers to the same questions and, per police, she’d been treating the dog’s mange with baths instead of taking him to a veterinarian.

The dog was hospitalized for 17 days and made a full recovery. Emily Vazquez and Emmanuel Vazquez were each arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that Emily Vazquez and Emmanuel Vazquez receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear State’s Attorney Cassilly,

A dog was allegedly starved almost to the point of death in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The dog was reportedly so emaciated that his ribs and hip bones showed through his skin. We demand justice for this poor dog.

New Britain police charged Emily Vazquez and Emmanuel Vazquez with animal cruelty after they allegedly starved and neglected their dog nearly to the point of death. Per police, the Shar-Pei mix was so emaciated that his organs would have shut down within days, and he suffered from mange, a painful skin condition caused by mites. The Vazquez’s neglected to bring the dog to a veterinarian for treatment and claimed that he just stopped eating, per police. The dog had to be hospitalized for 17 days, but miraculously made a full recovery. Emily Vazquez and Emmanuel Vazquez were both arrested.

This awful cruelty cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

  2. This is why people do NOT need to have domestic animals. If you care about animals stop the domestic pet trade. This idiot was either a backyard breeder or some hoarding nut who supposedly loves animals!
Help stop this suffering and horror by pushing any legislation that stops breeding puppy mills and the domestic pet trade! Five million animals killed in shelters each year, hundreds of thousands of those surrender, abandoned by owners who want a new puppy most under 3 years old or over 10 years old! Shameful that people treat these living creatures like trash! Please spay NUETER do NOT ever buy from breeders! If you love animals do everything you can to STOP the breeding of domestic pets! Just suffering and pain for the poor dogs and cats. At best the poor living feeling creatures are left alone for hours everyday, because some fool thinks they need to have a pet, just sick and so so SELFISH!

  3. another case of inhuman cruelty to a poor animal when are these bastards going to be punished properly for what they do to animals

  4. I’D like to have 5 minutes in a windowless room with this couple

  6. Ban ALL animal ownership, prosecute to full extent of law. People are demanding justice, NO EXCUSES, NO PLEASE BARGAINS! Enough is enough. Time to prosecute animal abuse!

  7. KatWrangler WELCH says:

Mange is a treatable condition – if you care.

The best punishment, along with all legal penalties – and I hope they make the charges stick, is to have these POSs come down with scabies. That’s the human form of mange. And then let’s not treat them and see how they like it. Scum.

  8. These inhumane, self-absorbed, useless to society individuals must receive the maximum penalty for the suffering of this voiceless and helpless dog.

  9. Piece of Shit Human Garbage, just shoot them!

  10. How do you as owner look into those sad, pain filled eyes and still NOT TREAT your pet with the proper care and medication and if that is notbad enough you still starve the poor helpless animal!!!! What rotten scum you are! Punish them to the full extend of the law!!!!!

  12. These two evil, vile creatures need a huge fine and a long jail sentence, preferably in a cell with animal lovers. That precious dog didn’t deserve this horrible fate. I’m so glad he was rescued.

  13. Grain may cause skin conditions. No Grain/no GMO may help. Healthy food is needed. Gluten/GMO may hurt the gut lining so less nutrients absorb and may cause allergies due to leaky gut which may cause itchy and skin conditions etc. Fix the food and the dog may not need medicine. No gluten (wheat/barley/rye..oats/corn/rice) and no GMO with Roundup etc is needed by people/pets.

  14. Agreed all above and kill these animal abusers don’t need these type in this world waste of space.

  15. What is wrong with these people. Have they NO mercy. I wish they all would get what they have given to these poor animals that can’t defend themselves. Maybe they would learn something. You don’t treat Gods animals that way. You should get the same punishment.

  16. The death penalty is required to be implemented to all animal abusers.

  17. Selena Brooks says:

These 2 vile disgusting humans need to be given the most serious rash and let them go untreated to see how this poor dog suffered. So glad this dog got treatment and is now better.

  18. Dogs are such loving creatures that do not deserve to be abused especially by owners. I hope these people will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Harsher laws need to be implemented for animal abuse or it will continue.
