Praise Fashion Giant for Abandoning Angora Rabbit Hair

Target: Amancio Ortega Gaona, Co-founder of the Inditex Group / Company

Goal: To thank world’s largest fashion retailer for no longer doing business with cruel angora rabbit farmers.

The world’s largest fashion retailer, Inditex, has recently decided to no longer sell clothes made from angora rabbits, which is a type of rabbit that is able to grow long, silky hair. The decision came as a result of PETA’s allegations, which clearly showed angora rabbits were tortured for the use of their fur. Specifically, angora Chinese farmers rip out the hair from the rabbits while their paws are tied in both the front and back. Farmers claim this is done to ensure that the hair remains at maximum length for clothing made, although this type of torture is not a valid excuse to anyone who truly has a conscience.

However, the good news is that these farms may not be in business much longer. Amancio Ortega Gaona, who founded the Inditex Company, not only announced they were no longer going to do business with these farmers, they also went as far to say that they were going ban the sale of all angora hair. This decision is– clearly–a victory for the rabbits.

PETA is praising Inditex’s decision to stop doing business with these farmers, since many companies who compete with the company usually emulate what the company is doing when it comes to clothing design. Sign the petition below, and assure Amancio Ortega Gaona and Inditex that you stand behind their actions 100 percent in helping to end any financial agreements with farmers who refuse to give their rabbits the common care and decency they deserve.

Dear Mr. Gaona,

On behalf of the animal rights community, we would like to thank you for no longer doing business with angora Chinese rabbit farmers, who choose to not treat their animals humanely. Thank you for taking these positive steps, which will hopefully result in these rabbits having a better life in the future. Without major companies like Inditex making decisions to help end animal cruelty, positive change cannot take place.

Although there is still much work that needs to be done, in order to ensure these rabbits are cared for by means of ethical standards, it is our hope that other companies will follow your example to no longer do business with angora Chinese farmers, who treat their rabbits in this horrendous manner. Thank you again for making this positive change. Please know that the animal rights community stands behind you in your efforts, and will continue to support any efforts you make for the higher good of animals.

THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU! Hope now all these evil rabbit torturers will be put out of business and those who work for them by “plucking” these poor creatures and ignoring their screams lose their jobs and starve….
