Brookline police arrested Joseph Driscoll after he allegedly punched his dog in the ribs. A witness stated that Driscoll was trying to get the dog, a one-year-old mixed breed named Slater, into his car at a convenience store and appeared to become frustrated with the dog. Per the witness, Driscoll punched Slater and then twisted his collar, causing him to yelp. When police arrived at Driscoll’s home, they reportedly found Slater tethered to a tree outside in 20-degree weather without access to appropriate shelter.
