Keep Harmful Ingredients Out of Dog Food

dog food

Target: CEO of Mars Inc., Paul S. Michaels

Goal: Persuade Cesar Canine Cuisine to make healthier dog food.

Cesar Canine Cuisine is a popular dog food among smaller breed dogs. However, most veterinarians compare this food to the equivalent of human fast food. Many of their products have meat by-products, guar gum, xanthan gum and carrageenan, including the company’s original paté with chicken and beef. Urge the CEO of Mars Inc., which owns Cesar Canine Cuisine, to protect animals’ health and remove these potentially harmful ingredients from its products immediately.

Meat by-products are the remains from the slaughterhouses that do not contain muscle in it, such as spleen and lungs. Guar gum is made from a Guar plant and used as a thickener in food. High doses of guar gum may be linked to intestinal issues and cancer. Xanthan gum is also used as a thickener and is made from combining sugar and bacteria. Xanthan gum may be linked to intestinal issues. Another food thickener, carrageenan is made from red seaweed and may also be linked to cancer and intestine problems.

The harmful substances in Cesar dog food can have a serious effect on dogs. Dogs have a shorter digestive tract and a more acetic stomach than humans, which makes them easily prone to stomach problems. In order to try and prevent digestive issues, a dog’s food must be full of vital nutrients not hazardous bacteria and food thickeners.

By signing the petition below, you are helping to convince Cesar Canine Cuisine to use healthier ingredients when making its dog food products. Pets are like family for many and should be treated as such by dog food companies. We must stop Cesar Canine Cuisine from putting potentially hazardous substances in pets’ food.

Dear Mr. Paul S. Michaels,

The horrific ingredients in your dog food such as meat by-products, xanthan gum, guar gum and carrageenan need to be replaced with healthier ingredients, such as fresh vegetables and real meat. Guar gum and carrageenan have been linked to cancer and intestine problems, while xanthan gum has also been known to cause intestine problems. Including these potentially dangerous ingredients in your products unnecessarily risks the lives of thousands of dogs.

Dogs may love the taste of your food, but that’s only because it is the equivalent of human fast food. However, a dog’s stomach is very sensitive and cannot properly digest such harsh chemicals. By allowing your company to continue making dog food with substances that can cause cancer and digestive problems, you are potentially harming your customers’ beloved pets.

You need to take action now and improve the ingredients in your dog foods. By adding ingredients rich in nutrition, you will help many dogs live longer, happier lives. We, the undersigned, urge you to protect the health of pets nationwide by adding healthier ingredients to your dog food.

  1. Stop causing dogs to be ill by deliberately adding crap to their feed. I notice those that are on the board of Monsanto don’t eat toxin ridden GMO food. These products you are adding to their food is unnecessary and extremely harmful to them. I hope you get sued for the harm you are causing to dogs. Is this all part of the Shadow World Government crap food distribution agenda? We do not give our consent to your intoxicating dogs. We will never ever give our consent. Put species appropriate food in tins. If you are unwilling to comply to Health and Safety Standards then go and do something else. Its bad enough that dogs have to eat canned food anyway even more worrying that you are killing them with shit food unfit for animal consumption. Only inhuman evil monsters would do this to animals. I don’t feed crap to my animals and I do not see why other people’s dogs should be poisoned because of your greed, selfishness and arrogance. You don’t care.

  2. There are so many dog foods like OL ROY that should be banned / taken off shelves. Nothin but junk (CORN) and other fillers in so many dog foods. bare minimum to keep a dog alive. Bad for any dog to eat.

  3. We should be banning all wheat, corn, or soy from dog foods, as they are the main allergens for dogs. And we should be banning GMOs for all animals as well as humans. (Unfortunately the sleazy corporations who control our government would never allow that.)

  5. I feed my dog half local supermarket chain prime dog food, that’s about a dollar a day but there’s sweet potato and mango inside and some real chicken meat – so he gets some more freshly cooked chicken breast to go with that, and some vegetables we eat ourselves, without spices.
So we spend what, 80 dollars a month for doggy, but he’s doing real well.
When traveling, I have to buy the dog food I can get and there were decent results with Aldi dog food – I also tried Cesar, but my dog simply hates the stuff. He never ate it and reading this makes me glad about that… oh, they won’t change this. Cesar is already among the pricier brands, at least in Europe. Naw, if they really changed it prices would go way to high and revenue would shrink. No way.

What a waste of time to sign! This is Mars, for God’s sake, they’re not just poisoning your dogs but you and your kids as well!

Oh, yeah, this parasitic billionaire is really going to worry about what we say.

  7. Mars also makes:

    3 Musketeers
    5 (gum)
    Dove / Galaxy (Candy)
    Life Savers
    Milky Way
    **Royal Canin
    Uncle Ben’s
Wrigley’s (Spearmint, Double Mint, Big Red, Juicy Fruit, Winterfresh, Big League Chew, Bubble Tape, Hubba Bubba)

NO ONE in their right mind should be buying ANY of these unhealthy products, MUCH LESS feeding these shit brands/concoctions to their precious animals! JUST AS BAD, Mars is a known ANIMAL TESTING corporation as well. NOTHING they do is good for animals in any way, shape or form! Forget the petitions – they’ve NEVER listened to consumers. Just boycott the hell out of them, spread the truth about them, and hit them in their mega-pocketbooks, where it hurts.

  8. Cesar îs now off the menu plan from my dog
