Target: CEO of IKEA, Peter Agnefjaell
Goal: Applaud company’s ingenious approach to help homeless dogs
IKEA is partnering with two animal shelters in order to help homeless dogs find forever homes. Many animal shelters do not possess the resources necessary to heavily advertise all resident animals. With extra exposure, animals that live at the shelters would have a much better chance of finding a home, and what better platform than one of the world’s favorite department stores? Because of IKEA’s promotional support, many more shelter dogs will have a chance at finding a loving, permanent home.
The popular home supply store recently treated the dogs living at Animal Lovers League Shelter and Save Our Street Dogs Shelter to a photo shoot. The result was life-size cutout images of the dogs, which were placed on furniture pieces inside IKEA stores, as well as on the stores’ showroom floors. Patrons of the multiple IKEA stores will have access to information about the dogs and the shelters by simply using their cell phones to scan a barcode located on the dog cutouts.
By giving dogs this proactive opportunity to be seen, IKEA has significantly increased the likelihood that these dogs will find homes. Sign this petition to applaud IKEA for its remarkable dog-friendly campaign.
I am writing to thank you for IKEA’s recent campaign, which is helping shelter dogs find forever homes. The dedication that your company has to the homeless pets of the world is outstanding. Giving the dogs a photo shoot, cardboard-cutouts of themselves, extra affection and improving their chance of finding a loving, forever home is incredibly selfless. IKEA is not obligated in any way to help these animals find forever homes, however, you and your company clearly believe that all shelter dogs deserve a caring home, and I commend you for using the popularity of your stores to greatly improve the lives of these loving animals.
Thank you for all that you have done to help the homeless dogs of Animal Lovers League Shelter and Save Our Street Dogs Shelter. I urge you to continue to develop creative, eye-catching promotional materials that aim to help homeless animals find loving, permanent homes.
