Target: Erik Scott, Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesperson
Goal: Praise firefighters for successfully saving a dog from a fast flowing river.
When the Los Angeles Fire Department received a call that a dog was caught in a fast flowing river current, they wasted no time in saving the struggling animal. A sudden and heavy rainstorm the day before caused the rapid river flow that swept up the dog. When they arrived, the dog could be seen making every effort to try and keep its head above the water as the river carried it farther away.
Seeing no other choice, the firefighters conducted a dramatic air rescue. Once one of the firefighters was lowered into the river and was able to reach the dog. The firefighter noted that the dog showed absolutely no resistance or struggle when he scooped it up in his arms, presumably because it was so exhausted from its frightening ordeal.
The Los Angeles Fire Department saved this dog from a terrible fate with its daring aerial rescue. These firefighters truly care about every life, no matter how small. Sign this petition and praise the efforts of the Los Angeles Firefighters.
Dear Erik Scott,
I am relieved to hear that the rescue of this dog was a successful one. With the river flowing faster than usual, there were many chances for this rescue to go awry. A sudden and heavy rainstorm the day before had caused the river to swell and flow faster than it usually does. Despite the dangers this posed, the Los Angeles Fire Department jumped straight to action and saved this dog no matter what it took.
The dramatic air rescue the Los Angeles Fire Department conducted was very brave and admirable. I understand that the firefighter who pulled the dog out of the river stated that the poor dog showed no resistance when he picked it up into his arms, presumably because it was completely exhausted from the frightening ordeal.
The work that the firefighters do is very much appreciated by people and animals alike. The Los Angeles Fire Department truly cares about every life, no matter how small. I would like to thank the Los Angeles Fire Department once again for the daring rescue of this dog and for all of its efforts in saving every life it can.
