Jamestown police and firefighters responded to a fire at the home of David M. Wright, William L. Wright, and Lisa A. Bortz and reportedly found a dog suffering from severe neglect. The toy poodle, named Mia, reportedly suffered with thick fur mats, open sores, and a large cyst. Per investigators, Mia’s fur was covered in feces, and she could barely see past the debilitating mats.

Mia was taken to a veterinarian for treatment. David M. Wright, William L. Wright, and Lisa A. Bortz were each charged with animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that they receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Swanson,

A dog reportedly suffered with fur mats and open sores when she was allegedly neglected. The fur mats were allegedly so thick that they covered her eyes and made it difficult for her to see. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Jamestown police charged David M. Wright, William L. Wright, and Lisa A. Bortz with animal cruelty after a dog in their care allegedly showed signs of severe neglect. Mia, a toy poodle, reportedly suffered with thick debilitating hair mats, a cyst on her abdomen, and open sores. Per investigators, Mia was covered in feces and in need of immediately veterinary care. If not for a fire in the home, Mia may have gone on suffering for much longer or even died.

This horrific cruelty cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,
