Decomposed and Starving Horses Found on Property Deserve Justice

Target: David M. Hoovier, District Attorney for Orange County, New York

Goal: Demand that the woman who allegedly starved and neglected her horses, leading to the death of nine, receive the maximum penalty by law.

Nine horses died and one suffered when they were allegedly starved and neglected. The surviving horse was reportedly severely emaciated, and additional horses on the property had overgrown hooves. Demand justice for these poor horses.

Investigators from the Hudson Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Goshen town police visited Jeanne Ryan’s property and reportedly found the decomposing remains of nine horses. Among them were allegedly the remains of a mare and her foal. A tenth horse was reportedly severely emaciated, and the horse’s ribs showed through its skin. Per officials, an additional ten horses also lived on the property and were in dire need of tooth and hoof care.

The surviving horses’ current location and condition are unreported. Ryan has been charged with 10 misdemeanor counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals. Sign below and demand that Ryan receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Hoovier,

Nine horses died and one horse suffered with severe emaciation when they were allegedly starved and neglected. Per prosecutors, their owner subjected them to aggravated cruelty, defined as conduct that caused either extreme pain, or was “carried out in an especially depraved or sadistic manner.” We demand justice for these innocent horses.

An Orange County grand jury charged owner Jeanne Ryan with 10 felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty after she allegedly starved the nine horses to death, included a mare and her foal. One surviving horse was reportedly so emaciated that the horse’s ribs showed through its skin, and ten addition horses on the property were reportedly in dire need of hoof and dental care. Per officials, the decomposing remains of the horses were found on Ryan’s farm and piled in the woods on the property.

This horrific abuse must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

  1. Let her starve to death and die of thirst like the poor horses …

  2. CRIMES AGAINST ANIMALS MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY — We must ensure that all animal abusers, like idiot Ryan, of the world stay away from animals and NEVER “care for” them again — Ryan’s depraved indifference to the torturous suffering inflicted on these magnificent horses is telling of an unconscionable, sadistic, irrational, immoral & uncaring human — CRIMES AGAINST ANIMALS MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY — PUNISHMENTS & PENALTIES MUST BE SEVERE!! — We do NOT want repeats of such crimes EVER!

  3. Exterminate all animal abusers.

This Ryan moron should never be allowed near another animual EVER. Put the bitch n solitary confnement with no food or water and let the scum rot.

I am sick of animal abusers getting a slap on the wrist; the law need to take crimes against animals seriously.

This lowlife scumbag piece of shit deserves to rot in HELL. I really dont understand how anyone could possibly do something like this. How can someone live with themselves and continue to go about their dailybusiness like nothing is going on meanwhile she has these beautiful horses on her property that are literally dying from starvation. I can’t even go to sleep if I run out of dog food and forgot to grab some one my way home from work which has happened a couple of times. And my dog either gets a home cooked meal usually a nice steak dinner because I feel so guilty for forgetting to grab her food on my way home. I would walk 10 miles if thats what I had to do but one way or another my dog eats before I do. She absolutely comes 1st because she depends on me to take care of her. Thats the responsibility of being a pet owner thats the choice we make when we decide to open are homes and our hearts to ANY ANIMAL. Some times people fall on hard times but that wasn’t the case with this low life. And if she did fall on hard times thats still no excuse because there are plenty of people out there willing to help like every person that’s signed this petition. She consciously madethe choice every single day to not feed those poor animals. And this was a choice she made and continued to make every single day for a very very long period of time. I would say she deserves to rot in prison for the rest of her miserable life but that would be way to nice because she definitely doesn’t deserve 3 hot meals a day when she couldn’t feed the animals she was responsible for. And not only does she deserve to be starved to death but anyone else that lived on the property or anywhere near the property also deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law because all it would have taken was a simple phone call and at least 9 horses would still be alive. Sometimes Humanity makes me sick to my stomach

absolutely shocking please put these animals first and their happiness and make better laws and punishments everywhere so all animals including these can be protected and be given a much better life .They certainly deserved it .No animal deserved this fate .People should be made to face up to what they have done and given prison sentences

  8. Looks like a scene from a horror movie, a skeleton rotting by a live horse , who is starving and abused. Throw her in that stable to starve the lazy rot.
