Justice for Small Dogs Allegedly Forced to Live in Filthy Barn

Target: Hugh C. Jenkins, Prosecutor, Bates County, Missouri

Goal: Harshly punish breeders accused of forcing 27 dogs to live in their own urine and feces.

Nearly 30 dogs are in the care of the Humane Society of Missouri after being rescued from the home of a suspected breeder. The 27 dogs, all Yorkshire Terriers, were found living outside and in barns by the Humane Society’s Animal Cruelty Task Force, who found the dogs while following up on a call from a concerned neighbor. Most of the dogs, some as young as 6 weeks old, were being kept outside with little more than a barn and a horse trailer for shelter. Officials suspect that without intervention, many of the animals would not have survived the winter.

The barn that the dogs were kept in was reportedly filled with urine and feces all over the floors, as well as several cramped and dirty crates for the dogs. Many of the dogs were found to be suffering from health issues, and investigators suspect that they were denied veterinary care. The health conditions include severe flea infestation, severe hair loss and matting of the hair, as well as dental disease. These were only the immediately apparent health issues — more are expected to surface after blood tests and veterinary exams are fully completed.

This sort of alleged for-profit animal abuse by breeders must be stopped. Authorities must take this case seriously in order to ensure that this and other breeders hold the welfare of their animals at the utmost importance. Sign the petition below to ask the prosecutor to punish these breeders harshly, if they are found guilty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Jenkins,

Nearly 30 dogs were recently found forced to live in a filthy barn. The barn was filled with small, cramped cages and feces and urine. Investigators, who responded to a call from a concerned neighbor, say that the small Yorkshire Terriers, some as young as 6 weeks old, would not have survived the winter in the shelter they were given.

Breeders such as these often put profit above the welfare of animals. In order to stop this, we must start taking these types of crimes more seriously. In order to save more dogs from this treatment and deter future animal abusers, we ask that you seek the maximum possible punishment against the breeders, if they are found guilty.

Sincerely,

  1. Wait! “If they are found guilty”?! Of course they are guilty!! Somebody caged those poor pooches up in those tiny, disgusting filthy prisons! Somebody did not take even the slightest amount of concern as to the pooches medical problems even though it was the “somebodys” fault the dogs were like that in the first place. 10 to 1 the dogs did NOT have clean water, or adequate amounts of food. Whoever is responsible for all of this suffering IS GUILTY and this human (s) asshole (s) ought to get the sentence of LET THE PUNISHMENT FIT THE CRIME!! Lock the greedy creeps up in a cramped filthy cage with horrible skin problems that someone else is to blame for! Make sure the creeps suffer and never see sunlight or eat good food and make sure they have no clean water to drink….I can guarantee they’ll never do this type of bullshit again!

I sure wish we still had the law an eye for an eye. That would solve a lot of these problems. What I don’t understand is why are they not giving the breeders names?? WHY DO THEY KEEP COVERING UP FOR THESE UNHUMAN PIESES OF CRAP????

  3. if they’re guilty what the hell is wrong with the laws down there or do they have any. lock these bastards up and throw away the key

  4. Cynthia Mattera says:

Please shut down this “Hell Hole” and charge these people with felony!!!! Breeders need to be shut down and held accountable for their lack of care of these helpless animals. They are living off the misery of living beings….get a REAL JOB!

  5. BAN ALL PUPPY MILLS ON EARTH .

  6. IF????? What’s with this “if” thing? Were the dogs supposed to have mistreated themselves?????? How much money is being payed out to get the law to look the other way????

    • Mongoose Jones says:

Because we have LAWS which make us have to PROVE things before we punish people, and that is actually a good thing.

  7. NO IF!!! These money grubbers don’t give a flip for the care or welfare of these poor innocents. Back yard breeders are as bad, and sometimes worse, then a huge puppy mill! How many dogs have already died there? Take everything they have, anything they own, sell it to pay for the care of these poor dogs. Make them Pay!!

  8. Do it to them see how they like it bastards
