Save the Greater Sage-Grouse

Target: Ryan Zinke, United States Interior Secretary

Goal: Protect conservation efforts towards the greater sage-grouse.

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke plans to revoke a conservation plan for the greater sage-grouse, an iconic species of the west whose numbers have declined by almost 95 percent in recent years. The land put aside to create protected areas for the species will be put to other uses, according to news reports; the conservation plans took years to create and finalize, only to be threatened by a single memo.

We cannot allow Zinke to follow through with this. If the conservation plans are revoked, the species’ numbers will continue to plummet until it is almost extinct. Too much wildlife has already been threatened and nearly killed off by recent attacks on the environment, and Zinke’s reported intentions are only adding to the problem. The agreement and the plans were many years in the making; we cannot let a single memo undo the hard work put into them.

The greater sage-grouse deserves to live in peace and rebuild its numbers. Sign this petition to demand that the conservation efforts for them stay firmly in place.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Zinke,

Your plans to revoke the greater sage-grouse conservation agreement are unacceptable. The plans and the agreement took years to work out and set in place, but a memo you sent intends to undo years of hard work in one fell swoop by continuing prior development of the lands.

The greater sage-grouse’s numbers have declined by 95 percent in recent years. While the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has reportedly declared the species no longer endangered, the population is much too small and will be practically nonexistent should the land put aside for them be taken back for development purposes. Do not revoke the conservation agreement. Put the environment and the needs of this species before the needs of developers.

Sincerely,

It seems that the world wants to get rid of all the animals and all plants that are needed until only humans live in this world which will then be a dismal place.

It seems like everyone on Herr us quick to pass judgement. You cannot tell me that you have never done anything wrong in your life. Jesus say we are to forgive one another. If we come down in justice on every wrong deed, doesn’t that make us just as bad as they are? Think about it. We should forgive one another.
