Commend Organization for Providing Medical Care for Animals

Target: Uganda Society for the Protection of Animals

Goal: Commend this organization for providing medical care to animals in need

The Uganda Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (USPCA) recently organized a volunteer-funded clinic to help cats and dogs in need in the poorest areas of the capitol city of Kampala. Veterinarians, volunteers, and residents took part in mass vaccination and spaying and neutering of cats and dogs. Thank the USPCA for providing medical care for animals, and giving them a chance for a healthy life.

Basic healthcare for companion animals in third-world countries is often nonexistent or difficult to obtain, especially in impoverished communities. Hundreds of dogs and cats may suffer from starvation, malnutrition, and outbreaks of disease. Others are culled in attempts to address the dangers of stray populations. Aggressive packs of dogs may attack livestock or people as well as other dogs, and they themselves may be poisoned or abused by human beings.

Spaying and neutering the animals in Kampala will help cut down on populations, and vaccinating them will prevent suffering from disease and outbreaks of illness. Basic veterinary care is essential for the health and safety of pets and strays alike. Injured animals also received veterinary care on the spot. Dogs and cats too young to operate on will be spayed and neutered when they are old enough, free of charge.

The USPCA must be commended for their actions. The organization helps animals and human beings alike, and their efforts should be recognized.

Thank you for your efforts to help the dogs and cats of Kampala by providing medical care and spaying and neutering strays and pets. Street animals and pets alike are threatened by the lack of basic veterinary care, and are in danger of disease and illness. Providing vaccinations and reducing populations through spay and neuter programs is a much-needed first step, and helps ensure the welfare of animals that may otherwise go without.

Your compassion and care deserves to be commended. Thank you for taking action to help dogs and cats, and providing veterinary care for those that needed it most.
