Target: Maryland Humane Society Chief Executive Officer, Kimberley Intino
Goal: Praise Humane Society for saving animals neglected by their farm owner
A horrifying case of alleged animal cruelty was discovered at a farm in Boonsboro, Maryland. Authorities seized close to 100 animals, including cows, sheep, and goats, that appeared to be extremely hungry and neglected.
The Humane Society claims that the barn owner is facing over 300 animal cruelty charges. It was described as the worst conditions the organization had ever seen. Many of the animals were very thin and looked to be starving. In total, the officers took away 95 animals and moved them to other farms.
Neighbors and witnesses sent in many caller tips to the Humane Society, which was able to serve the farm owner, Daniel Rohrer Jr., a search warrant. The documents state that the officers spotted deceased animals and animal feces when they entered the barn. They witnessed no food and dirty water left out for the animals. They also saw some animals with infections and overgrown hooves. These are some of the images that the Humane Society plans to present in this criminal case.
Daniel Rohrer currently denies all charges that he faces. He claims to provide all of the necessary requirements to care for his animals. He also claims that all of the animals that were seized were perfectly healthy. On the other hand, the Humane Society has said that they invested a lot of their own funds to bring the animals back to good health.
Please sign this petition to thank the Humane Society’s efforts in saving the animals and to support the conviction of the farmer who allegedly neglected the animals in his care.
Dear Officer Intino,
A farmer was charged with animal abuse because authorities found dead, dying, and starving animals on his farm. Authorities saw dead carcasses amongst animals with protruding rib cages and no food or clean water in sight.
You were one of the brave officers who walked into one of the worst cases of animal neglect the Humane Society has ever seen. Thank you for working with your team to rescue the 95 animals that were allegedly abused and neglected by their owner. Thank you for nursing the animals back to health and sending them to better farms where they can be cared for properly.
