Commend Farm Sanctuary for Incredible Kindness

Target: Founder of Edgar’s Mission farm animal sanctuary, Pam Ahern

Goal: Encourage and support the mission and good deeds of Edgar’s Mission farm animal sanctuary

Farm animal sanctuaries do a lot of good for mistreated farm animals; they allow animals to have a second chance at a wonderful, rewarding life. Some farm animal sanctuaries take their well-meaning actions to another level and reach out to communities, allowing the joys that happy animals bring to reach far and wide. One sanctuary in particular has made a personal mission of bringing happiness and peace to nursing homes.

Edgar’s Mission farm animal sanctuary, in Victoria, Australia, extends its compassion to humans in need. A few animals from the sanctuary travel around the country, bringing joy and companionship to the elderly at nursing homes. The animal group, appropriately named “kindness crusaders,” makes the nursing home residents smile and laugh while gingerly taking food from their hands. The group is made up of a goat, Miss Chief; a chicken, Ginger Chicken and a sheep, Timmy.

The farm sanctuary takes the concept of ‘therapy animals’ to a whole new level. The kindness crusade shows people, including the elderly, that any happy animal can bring joy and peace to a person’s life. The animal does not have to be a dog or a cat to inspire hope; in fact, farm animals are a very fitting subject for hope for a more rewarding life. Commend Edgar’s Mission farm animal sanctuary for sharing love and kindness with elderly people around Australia.

Dear Pam Ahern,

Your non-profit organization, Edgar’s Mission farm animal sanctuary, is a wonderful force of love for people everywhere, especially the elderly. Miss Chief the goat, Ginger Chicken and Timmy the sheep travel around Australia to make people laugh and experience the joy of a happy, loved farm animal. This is a priceless experience for elderly people who likely do not get much stimulus outside of daily routines.

Thank you for taking your mission to the next level. Farm animals are joyous creatures and everyone should experience their quirky personalities and intelligent mannerisms; they are often misunderstood, and this takes their merit to a level comparable to that of a dog or cat. In reality, farm animals are just like dogs and cats. They desire companionship, comfort and happiness.

Edgar’s Mission farm animal sanctuary provides happiness to humans and animals alike. I commend your efforts and wish you nothing but success and happiness in the future.

Wonderful job Edgar’s Mission! You are commended for the lives you are saving, not to mention the good these animals are doing for others!!!

  2. Using loving animals to comfort aging, sick, or lonely people is one of the best possible ways to show love for both the animal and the person. Do you suppose they also take pigs to visit nursing homes? (As the photograph seems to suggest.) Pigs are wonderful, intelligent animals, and are only thought of as “dirty” because of the way most keep and feed them.
