Punish Teen Accused of Slashing Puppy and Leaving it to Die

Target: Matthew Schutte, State’s Attorney, Henry County, Illinois

Goal: Seek the harshest possible punishment for a teen accused of violently slashing a puppy.

A teen has been charged with animal torture and aggravated animal cruelty after allegedly slashing a puppy’s throat. The teen, who has not been named due to his age, is accused of using a box cutter to slash the puppy several times before putting the animal into a bag and leaving it to die. The puppy, named Thor, was found with lacerations to the throat and abrasions on his back. Fortunately, with lots of veterinary care, including surgeries, he survived.

Animal welfare advocates are currently campaigning to have the 17-year-old teen tried as an adult. According to Stephanie Ince, organizer of a rally for Thor, “He’s grown enough to cut a puppy’s throat and leave him to die, he’s old enough to be tried as an adult.” Being tried as an adult would mean harsher penalties as well as the crime staying on the teen’s record, making it easier to prosecute him if he should re-offend in the future. If convicted, the accused would have to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

This shocking act of cruelty was deliberate, and Thor is lucky to be alive. Teens and children who commit this type of cruelty are at a higher risk of violence toward animals or even humans later in life. In order to ensure that no more people are hurt by the person responsible for this horrific crime, they must be punished harshly. Sign below to ask the prosecutor to seek the maximum possible punishment for this teen, if he is found guilty.

Dear Mr. Schutte,

A 17-year-old teen is facing charges after allegedly slashing a puppy’s throat, tying it into a bag, and leaving it to die. The puppy, now named Thor, was found with abrasions on his back and four lacerations on this throat. Animal welfare advocates are seeking to have the unnamed teen tried as an adult — according to Stephanie Ince, organizer of a rally for Thor, “He’s grown enough to cut a puppy’s throat and leave him to die, he’s old enough to be tried as an adult.”

Teens who commit violent acts against animals are at risk of committing future acts of violence. For this reason, it’s imperative that the person responsible is properly punished and rehabilitated. We, the undersigned, call on you to seek justice for Thor.

  1. Death is required for this POS and a slow and agonizing death at that!!

  2. KatWrangler WELCH says:

Of course try this POS as an adult. The small children of our family – 5 and 7 years old – know enough NOT to do something like this. And most people don’t have it in them to be this horrible. This has nothing to do with age – it’s all about EVIL.

Anyone capable of doing something like this needs to be arrested and removed from decent society. As far as rehabilitation – good luck with that.

  3. These scum are our next child molesters and killers! Please punish this evil piece of shit.

  4. Mieke Decock says:

Il y en a marre de touttes ses merdes qui font mal aux annimaux faites lui la meme chose a cette espece d’ordure .Heureusement qui le toutou a ete sauver j’espere qui trouvera vite une famile qui va l’aimer comme il se doit .

  5. Pamela Bolton says:

This TEEN was old enough to harm this puppy, he is old enough to be tried as an adult. They do things like this because THEY KNOW they can get away with it because of their ages. NO PLEA DEALS, tried as an adult. Stop handing these kids a free pass for these atrocities and start punishing them for their deeds. PUBLISH THEIR NAMES so people will know what kind of creatures they are having to deal with. Start at 5 years for each offense. This will not stop UNLESS the punishment is severe enough that they will think twice about doing something like this. Pets are FAMILY MEMBERS, treat them as such.

I’d like to get a hold of this piece of worthless garbage bastard❗️?
He’d be begging me to quit❗️?
