Target: Edgar’s Mission Founder and Director Pam Ahern
Goal: Thank Pam Ahern and her team for saving thousands of animals over the past decade
Saving the lives of thousands of animals started with one little creature: Edgar Allan Pig. Pam Ahern, founder and director of Edgar’s Mission, adopted the little pig and fell in love. Inspired, she started her organization, a nonprofit farm sanctuary in Australia, knowing there were thousands of farm animals like Edgar in need of rescue. Edgar’s Mission started over a decade ago and is currently a thriving home to roughly 300 animals. The 60-acre farm sanctuary is dedicated to nursing frightened and sickly farm animals back to health. The sanctuary provides a safe place for these creatures to regain their health and live happy lives. Director Ahern said, “[Society has] become so removed from farm animals that so many of us do not realize the incredible fun loving and emotional creatures these guys and gals are.”
When not nursing these beautiful animals back to health, Director Ahern is planning for the sanctuary’s upcoming move to a larger location. She also spends her weekends traveling Australia to spread awareness about farm animal rights. “We would never dream of eating the family cat or treating our dogs the way we do farm animals,” commented Director Ahern. “When you consider that we really do not need to harm or even eat animals to live happy and healthy lives, something inside you comes alive.”
It has taken tremendous effort and endless patience to make Edgar’s Mission a reality: a sanctuary for rescued farm animals to recover and lead happy lives. Thousands of smart and loving creatures have been saved over the past decade in Australia due to Director Ahern’s vision in creating this safe haven. Sign this petition to thank her and her organization for their passion in saving countless animals just like little Edgar Allan Pig.
Dear Director Ahern,
I recently read about your animal sanctuary, Edgar’s Mission. I am very impressed with the work you’ve put in over the past decade to create this place. Not only do you provide a safe haven for farm animals to heal and recover, but you also spend time advocating for farm animal rights. Without a doubt, thousands of animals have been saved because of your efforts. Thank you for this incredible feat and for the work you do each day.
As you have stated, these animals are emotional and intelligent creatures that deserve our attention and respect. While they are commonly viewed as food, you have helped show society that they are not slabs of meat. They are feeling, smart, compassionate beings. From your first, Edgar Allan Pig, to the 300 currently housed at the sanctuary, one thing is clear: these animals are lucky to have you fighting for them.
