Justice for Animals Allegedly Chained Outside for 10 Days Without Food or Water

Target: Hays Webb, District Attorney for Tuscaloosa County, Alabama

Goal: Demand that the man and woman who allegedly chained three dogs and a pig to trees without access to food or water receive the maximum penalty under law if found guilty.

Three dogs and a potbelly pig were allegedly chained to trees without access to food or water for 10 days. The animals were reportedly emaciated and nearly died in the dangerous heat. Demand that justice is served for these innocent animals.

“Leave them to die. Leave them starving. I’ll never understand it,” stated a concerned neighbor. The neighbor alerted the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office after they found the emaciated dogs and pig. The animals were reportedly chained to the trees during days in which the heat index climbed to over 100.

Devin Hulsey and Jodi Scott were each charged with four counts of animal cruelty and bonded out of jail. The three dogs are being cared for by the county, and the pig is recovering at a foster home. Sign below and demand that Hulsey and Scott receive the maximum penalty under law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Webb,

Three dogs and a pig suffered tremendously when they were allegedly chained to trees and exposed to intense heat. They reportedly had no access to food or water. We demand that justice is served for these innocent animals.

A couple, Devin Hulsey and Jodi Scott, made the most wanted list after they were accused of being responsible for this horrendous act of animal cruelty. The heat index rose to 100 during the 10 days that the animals were reportedly confined without water, food, or shelter. If not for a concerned neighbor, the animals likely would have died.

This horrific abuse cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case, if this couple is found guilty of this crime.

Sincerely,
