Four Dogs Allegedly Starved and Neglected Deserve Justice

Target: John F. DeRosier, District Attorney for Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana

Goal: Demand that the man and woman who allegedly starved and neglected four dogs receive the maximum penalty under law.

Four dogs were allegedly starved and neglected in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The dogs were reportedly so emaciated that their bones showed through their skin.

When Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s officers arrived at Anita L. Montoya and James V. Chauvin’s home, they reportedly found four dogs in very poor health. The dogs were reportedly extremely emaciated and had no access to food or water. The welfare check was a follow-up to a previous visit during which Animal Service officers reportedly instructed Montoya to seek immediate veterinary care for the dogs.

All four dogs are currently in the custody of Calcasieu Parish Animal Services and are being treated by a veterinarian. Montoya and Chauvin were charged with animal cruelty and were released on a misdemeanor summons. Sign below and demand that Montoya and Chauvin receive the maximum penalty under law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney DeRosier,

Four dogs reportedly suffered in Calcasieu Parish when they were allegedly starved and denied life-saving veterinary care. The dogs were reportedly emaciated and had no access to food or water. We demand justice for these poor dogs.

Per Animal Services, Montoya and Chauvin were extremely uncooperative when asked to seek veterinary care for their four dogs. The dogs were reportedly found to be dangerously emaciated, and Animal Services was unable to locate any dog food in the home. Montoya and Chauvin reportedly continued to allow their dogs to suffer despite warnings from Animal Services.

This horrific cruelty cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. RENEE HOWARD says:

It is a conscience decision to starve an animal…and it’s a long term process…plus these aninmals you know barked and whined for food and water..and they were released for a misdemeanor act…wonder if stomping the crap out of these two idiots…shoving them i cages starving them would b considered a misdemeanor…no…then no mercy for morons…

    • Margaret Melnick says:

If I were the judge Renee Howard I would give you a medal not charge you with a misdemeanor. This is exactly what these evil scum bags deserve.

  2. Sick people like this should never be able to be a gaurdian to ANY living creature. I hope they do not have children! not every idiot should be able to be a gaurdian to a living creature. Stop breeding animals to be given to violent out of control criminals! Stop breeding there is no need for the domestic pet trade…the living creatures suffer for greed. Five million domestic pets killed each year in shelters…another estimated 70 million dying horrific deaths on the streets of the US as strays! Stop breeding animals and reconsider making living creatures available for any creep!

  3. Been warned, no reaction, maximum penalty, no more animals.

  4. I PRAY EVERYDAY THAT GOD SENDS A PLAGUE SO HORRIBLE THAT IT WIPES OUT EVERYONE THAT EATS, TORTURERS, RAPES, STARVES TO DEATH, MAIMS, SKINS ALIVE, CATS, DOGS, HORSES, OR ANY ANIMAL! PEOPLE INVOLVED WITH DOG FIGHTING! PEOPLE WHO TORTURE ANIMALS AND SELL FOR GREED! THOSE THAT HAVE NO COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS, AND THOSE THAT KILL FOR EVIL REASONS! IN JESUS NAME I PRAY!

  5. Instigation of the death penalty is indeed required!
