Dog Killed in Tragic Hit and Run Deserves Justice

Target: Fredric M. Knapp, County Prosecutor for Morris County, New Jersey

Goal: Demand that the man who hit and killed a dog with his dirt bike and drove off without stopping receive the maximum penalty under law.

A dog died horrifically after she was run over by a dirt bike. The dog was on a leash in the middle of the street when the driver ran her over and then drove off. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

“Love of my life. As much as a four legged thing could be the love of your life, she was the love of my life,” stated George Korduba, Zhaba’s owner. Zhaba, a 12-year-old pug, was crossing the street with Korduba when she was hit by a dirt bike going at a high speed. The driver fled the scene and Zhaba bled out in Korduba’s arms.

Police have asked the public for any information that could lead to the dirt bike driver’s arrest. They are already receiving leads from concerned neighbors. Sign below and demand that the driver receive the maximum penalty under law, if convicted.

Dear Prosecutor Knapp,

A dog was the victim of a tragic hit and run by a man on a dirt bike. The dog bled out in her owner’s arms while the dirt bike driver fled the scene. We demand justice for this poor dog.

“I turned around and saw the dirt bike coming. I tried to wave him off. I tried to let him know I was in the middle of the street. Hit the dog, didn’t slow down,” stated George Korduba. He was walking Zhaba, his 12-year-old pug, across the street on a leash when the dirt bike barreled down on them. Zhaba suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

This horrific attack cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

  1. The cruel, unconscionable, depraved indifference MUST be addressed — this careless, reckless biker MUST be held accountable — we do NOT want repeats of these preventable, deeply sad tragedies — it is quite heart-breaking — I am so sorry for Zhaba and his Guardian George.
