Target: Police Commissioner of the New York Police Department William J. Bratton
Goal: Investigate Rene Carcamo for the possible murder of 25 dead cats he hung in a tree
In the spring of 2013, a public works crew stumbled upon a chilling find. Hanging from the branches of a tree the crew spotted several black plastic bags. Inside these bags were the bodies of 25 cats. Investigations later revealed that Rene Carcamo is the man responsible for hanging these cats up. The problem is finding out whether this despicable man is responsible for their deaths. Sign this petition and urge Police Commissioner William J. Bratton to send officers to assist the SPCA in this investigation.
The cats were found near Overlook Terrace near Yonkers, New York. Some of the cats were placed in plastic bags and hung from the tree, while others were found on the ground. In total, 25 bodies were recovered, and most of the cats sustained blunt-force trauma. Three of the cats were necropsied and tested positive for blunt-force trauma to the head. Carcamo’s current charge could place him in jail for a year, but investigators want to charge the man with animal cruelty. At the moment he is being held on $5,000 bail.
The story has garnered a lot of press and sympathy from many animal lovers, including Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler. A reward of $25,000 has been posted for information regarding the true killer, although the SPCA strongly suspects Carcamo is the one responsible. Aside from this incident, Carcamo has been charged with animal cruelty when authorities found two sick kittens on his property. He was instructed to take the kittens to the vet, and when he refused, the kittens were removed from him and charges were pressed. This man obviously has a history of mistreating his pets and shouldn’t have the privilege of keeping one. Sign this petition and urge Police Commissioner William J. Bratton to assist in this case.
Dear Police Commissioner William J. Bratton,
In April 2013, a cleanup crew found plastic bags hanging from a tree. Inside these bags were the bodies of several cats that had been beaten to death. No doubt you can imagine the horror and shock the cleanup crew experienced. An investigation was immediately launched, and Rene Carcamo was arrested in connection with this case. However, authorities are struggling to find the person responsible for the death of these cats.
I implore you to assign several officers to this task. The SPCA can only do so much with this disturbing case. Killing animals is a trait that many serial killers share, and even if Carcamo didn’t kill these cats, his actions should be cause for concern. Please alleviate the stress for the SPCA and the Yonkers police by lending a hand.
