Thank Organization for Rescuing Bears from Concrete Pits

Target: Ingrid Newkirk, President of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)

Goal: Praise PETA for saving 17 bears from a miserable concrete pit

Thanks to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and their rescue team, seventeen bears were saved from a wretched concrete pit in Helen, Georgia. The bears were transported and released to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colarado where the bears are now enjoying their newfound freedom.

According to PETA, the move was the result of collaborations between the PETA team, The Wild Animal Sanctuary, the Atlanta Humane Society, and Sam Simons (co-creator of the Simpsons). The group remained very careful when transferring the bears and even had a veterinarian present to make sure the bears had aid if a health problem were to occur. They also made sure to have emergency locations such as trustworthy zoos and veterinary hospitals on call just in case an emergency arose. The team even made sure that they were not breaking any laws while transporting the bears through the different states and made sure the bears was safe and content.

Black Forest Bear Park was the location from which the bears were rescued. The bears were held captive in nearly deserted concrete pits in this Georgia Park. The bears seemed under strain and anxiety with nobody watching out for their safety. Even the government cited Black Forest Bear Park as an unfit environment for housing the bears.

Although this was a huge victory for PETA, they are still trying to push the fact that the United States Department of Agriculture needs to support and help captive bears that are being mistreated all around the world. Please sign this petition to show your support for all of PETA’s efforts and thank them for saving the bears from Black Forest Bear Park.

Dear Ingrid Newkirk and the PETA team,

We wanted to thank you in your efforts to save 17 stranded bears from a concrete pit. We understand how much effort it took for you and your animal rescue team to get these bears out of Black Forest Bear Park. You wrote petitions and fought your way to get the bears to a safer environment and all of that has paid off. Because of your team’s determination, the bears are now free to roam around their new home in Keenssburg, Colorado. This is a great first step in improving the lives of all bears who are stuck in similar places all around the world.

Thank you for rescuing the animals and giving them a second chance at life.
