Justice for Endangered Deer Found in Car and Cruelly Bound With Twine

Target: Bob Shillinger, Monroe County Attorney

Goal: Seek the maximum punishment for men who reportedly had multiple endangered deer bound with twine and crammed inside a car.

Three endangered Key deer were reportedly found crammed inside of a car with their limbs cruelly bound with twine. The deer were found in the backseat and trunk of the car when the driver was stopped by police for having a broken tail light. The officer saw two of the animals struggling to break free in the backseat. The deer were released back into the woods after being untied and checked over. Two of the deer ran into the woods. Police say the third, a buck, was still in the area and continues to be under monitoring by wildlife personnel.

Had the men not have been stopped, it’s highly likely that these innocent, terrified animals would’ve been killed. The three deer deserve justice, and authorities should see to it that these men are never able to hurt any more animals. Please add your signature to the petition below to demand that they be punished to the maximum extent the law will allow.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Shillinger,

Three deer, with their limbs bound, were reportedly found stuffed into a car. Police found the animals when the driver was pulled over for a broken tail light. One was stuffed in the trunk while the other two were in the backseat. In photographs from the scene, blood appears to be present on their heads, meaning they were likely injured by the cruel men driving them.

Had these men not been stopped by police, this endangered trio of deer would’ve probably been killed. We are calling on you to do everything in your power to make sure that these men never hurt another animal again. Please see to it that they’re given the maximum possible punishment.

Sincerely,
