Praise Website Providing Politicians’ Stances on Animal Welfare

Target:  Kate Fowler, head of campaigns at Animal Aid

Goal: Praise Animal Aid for developing website allowing voters to check politician’s stances on animal welfare

The UK’s largest animal rights group, Animal Aid, has launched a website that will help constituents make better decisions when it comes to voting for Members of Parliament by providing the stances politicians have on animal rights. The website details the potential MP’s views on subjects such as installing cameras in slaughterhouses to vivisection and hunting. Animal rights can frequently be skipped over when constituents vote, with big issues such as finance and immigration usually dominating the headlines. By implementing this new website and making the information easy to access, Animal Aid hopes to put pressure on politicians to make their views on animal rights more well known.

Allowing constituents to make better and more informed choices will help protect animals in the United Kingdom from cruelty and abuse. Three MPs in particular have been praised by Animal Aid as being champions of animal rights:  Mary Creagh, the Labour MP for Wakefield and former shadow Environment Secretary; Tracey Crouch, the Conservative MP for Chatham and Aylesford; and Caroline Lucas, the Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion. Animal Aid also points out those who appear to lack strong stances on animal rights, which could help persuade voters to seriously reconsider their previous choices. The implementation of this website will undoubtedly help save countless animals in the future.

Dear Ms. Kate Fowler,

I would like to thank you and Animal Aid for working so hard to establish a website that allows voters to make choices that will directly benefit animals. Giving voters easy access to discover which Members of Parliament support animals will surely save many innocent creatures from abuse and neglect, and voters deserve to know what their MPs will do to support laws that benefit animals.

There are many animal-friendly MPs in office currently, and it is great that your website acknowledges them so that voters can continue voting for these politicians. In addition, your website clearly details those who aren’t animal friendly and we must make sure voters know that casting votes for these politicians could be extremely harmful for animals in the future. Animal Aid has done an amazing job at making this website easy to use so that we can make animal rights a more well-known issue and make a difference in the future.
