Justice for 20 Dogs Found Half-Dead and Chained Up In the Woods

Target: Richard Read, Rockdale County, Georgia District Attorney

Goal: Severely punish man who allegedly left 20 dogs chained up to die in the woods.

Twenty emaciated dogs were reportedly found nearly dead and chained up in the woods. Two of the animals had to be euthanized due to the severity of their condition. A little boy was searching the area for his missing dog with the help of neighbors when they came across the horrifying scene. One of the neighbors, Lita Boyd, said that all their bones were showing and that they “looked seriously abused.” The poor dogs were also lying in their own feces and covered in fleas and ticks, Boyd said.

Police were able to find the owner of the dogs, Robert Thomas. Thomas told police that dog food was too expensive, so he was feeding the animals deer meat, but they just weren’t gaining weight. There’s no telling how long these innocent animals had been in the woods, left to suffer agonizingly. Only an extremely cruel, possibly sadistic human could entrap these animals and keep them chained up to die a slow death. Please add your signature to the petition below to demand that the person responsible be severely punished and banned from owning animals for this senseless act of cruelty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Read,

Twenty dogs were found chained up in the woods when a little boy and his neighbors went out searching for his missing dog. They described the animals’ condition, saying they looked “seriously abused.” They also said the dogs’ bones were showing and they were lying in their own feces. Two of the dogs were in such bad shape that they had to be euthanized.

We, the undersigned, are calling on you to make sure that these innocent animals get the justice they deserve. Please see to it that the person who committed this senseless act of extreme cruelty be banned from owning animals and severely punished.

Sincerely,

  2. Well, DUH dog food is expensive when you have TWENTY dogs!! Why the heck did he have so many to begin with, especially someone who clearly has no love for them?!? Poor things were probably hunting dogs, not loved pets as they deserve. Very sad, sorry for the 2 precious babies it was too late for, glad the others were rescued!! Hope he is punished, and never allowed to have animals again, there’s just NO excuse these days for ANYONE to neglect or abandon their animals with all of the endless resources out there, NONE!!!

Please torture this bastard!! Rubber band castrate him, put syrup on him & place him in a fire ant pile chained to a tree, the dangle him over a gator Pitt to be eaten alive.
Solution: save taxpayers money, by no jail time, no prison time, rid society of a probable serial killer and feed wildlife also. Gators love rotten stuff and this sob – Pos is rotten..

Richard – For those of us who tirelessly sign these Animal Cruelty Petitions on a daily basis, please do the job you were hired to do; use your power and position to prosecute Robert Thomas to the FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW! This is a crime of murder and attempted murder. Show the world that Rockdale County, and the state of Georgia, will no longer tolerate animal cruelty and murder!

It is time for the world to acknowledge that the Animal Kingdom are citizens of this Earth too – with the same right we have –
to live their lives in peace on this planet, free from torture and murder at the hands of humans.
