Man Accused of Trying to Drown Dogs at Campground Must be Punished

Target: Matt Smith, Mohave County Attorney

Goal: Man who allegedly tried drowning dogs at campground must be banned from owning animals and harshly punished, if guilty.

A man was reportedly seen trying to drown his two dogs at a campground. Witnesses say that they saw 47-year-old Rob Wisdom drag two dogs into the water and attempt to force them to drink it. When confronted, Wisdom allegedly began causing a disturbance and even gave an obscene gesture to a group of people in a boat, which included several children. Officers warned Wisdom to stop using obscenities while they were investigating the witnesses statements, but the police say he continued to cause a disturbance. He was then arrested for disorderly conduct, a dog license violation, and two counts of animal cruelty.

If it weren’t for the witnesses who called police, these innocent dogs could’ve died a cruel, painful death from drowning. According to reports, the two dogs were seized and taken from Wisdom’s custody. Unfortunately, the charges he faces are only misdemeanors, and there’s a chance that he could be granted custody of the poor dogs again.

Wisdom claims he was merely trying to force his dogs to drink water.

If this man committed this cruel act of animal cruelty, then these innocent animals don’t deserve to ever be placed back under his care. Please add your signature to the petition below to demand that he be banned from ever owning animals in the future and harshly punished, if guilty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Smith,

A man was reportedly seen trying to drown his two dogs at a campground. Witnesses reported seeing the man drag the two poor animals into the water. When witnesses confronted him, Rob Wisdom allegedly began causing a disturbance and even gave an obscene gesture to a group of people, which included children. Police say that Wisdom was warned to stop using obscenities while they investigated the animal cruelty allegations, but he refused.

Wisdom was arrested on two counts of animal cruelty charges as well as a dog license violation and disorderly conduct. If this man is guilty, then he shouldn’t ever be allowed to own any more animals. We, the undersigned, are calling on you to ask that you take the lives of animals seriously and see to it that this man is banned from owning animals and harshly punished, if guilty.

Sincerely,
